Meet Carver! He is a 10-month-old Golden Retriever that found his way into RAGOM when his owner needed to urgently move overseas. He is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. He is also on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. He has no health issues and at 65 pounds, he is at a good weight! Carver is housebroken and is used to being crated for a full work day during the week. At night and when we are home, he has free roam of the house without any issues. He has no anxieties, no resource guarding, and no behavior issues. He absolutely loves to play with my 3-year-old Golden, Finn! He would love another dog in his forever home, but he would also do well as an only dog. I think he might be a little too much for an older dog that didn't want to play, as he does like to pester my dog to play constantly when Finn's trying to nap. He also lives peacefully with our two cats. Our one cat that doesn't like many dogs even likes him and will rub up against him! Carver does great with my 10-year-old daughter and would be fine with any age kids in his forever home. He does like to jump up and might knock little kids over in his excitement, but we are working on this and he's quickly learning what we expect of him. This cute boy loves to go for car rides and walks! He walks almost perfectly with a Gentle Leader right next to Finn and only a couple times have I had to tug him back to a heel position on our walks.

Carver knows several commands - sit, stay, down, off, out, shake, kennel, come, and wait. We are working on his training every day, but he's already a very well trained puppy! He has good recall and wants to be near his people. We are not requiring a fence for this boy, as he has not proven that he is a runner and we think he would learn his boundaries (or an invisible fence) quickly. Carver is a very happy puppy and while he does have a lot of energy, he's not overly hyper or out of control. He sometimes will chew on things he's not supposed to or destroy stuffed dog toys, but all are to be expected of a puppy. He is also very good at finding all of our lost cat toys, and he will even bring them to me! Carver loves to curl up on the couch and snuggle, too. He is such a sweet boy and he has the best personality. We love to watch him roll around on the floor or have him crawl up on the already crowded couch for some extra attention.

Carver comes from a good home where he was treated very nicely. He was very well taken care of and was fed a premium food, got all recommended vet care, had professional training, and was a cherished member of his family! I know they were sad to give him up, but I know that RAGOM will find this boy a wonderful forever family! Carver is a gorgeous lighter golden color. You may notice his fur length is a little varied! His former owner had him professionally groomed to look like a lion. His body, most of his tail, and his legs were shaved. His head, chest, and the end of his tail still have long hair. He makes a pretty cute lion! His coat is growing back nicely and he will have a gorgeous coat once it's fully grown back!

Carver will do well in almost any home! Please remember that he is a puppy and will require daily exercise and play time, in addition to further training. He is a great dog and will be the perfect family member for one lucky family! We have fostered a lot of puppies and younger dogs, and he is one of the most well-behaved and easy dogs to take care of! Please contact your placement advisors asap if you are interested in Carver - he will definitely be one that will be adopted quickly!

Carver continues to do great in his foster home! He is best friends with Finn and they are always playing, wrestling, or napping together. He had his vet visit this week and is ready to go to his forever home at any time. We have been working on making Carver sit and wait before he gets fed, like our Finn does. He is awesome at it!

Carver loves to listen to my daughter practice her flute. He is mesmerized by the sound and doesn't leave her side for as long as she plays. It is so adorable!

We have our holiday decorations up and other than his tail hitting the tree a few times, he has not messed with it! We are so surprised that he hasn't tried to take any of the ornaments or candy canes from the tree, but he is such a good boy that he knows he isn't supposed to. We welcomed a new foster, Vinnie 14-394, to our home last week and Carver has done a good job at knowing that Vinnie is not able to play right now.

Carver asked Santa for a forever family for Christmas. Are you that forever family? Carver would love to settle in and hang up his stocking before Santa arrives!
