Chamios 10-026

Profile

This is Chamios (pronounced Shammy) and I am here to tell you all about myself. I was surrendered to RAGOM because of a house foreclosure along with my son Santana 10-027. We were loved very much, but because of the foreclosure our previous family wanted what was best for us and knew that RAGOM was it. I am a purebred Golden, 6 1/2 years old, and I weighed 66.7 lbs. when I went to the vet. I do have allergies, but they do not know from what. I was given a steroid shot, antibiotics, and I am on Prednisone. The hair on my hot spots is starting to grow back. I could not be spayed because I was given the steroid shot, but will be spayed soon.

I am good with cats, but have not been exposed to children here at the foster home.  I previously lived with a one year old and was just fine with her. I am housetrained and I do just fine when FM is not at home. I depend a lot on my son Santana and we are always together. We run and play with each other ALL the time when we are out in the back yard. We play a lot with each other inside also. FM would really like us to go together. I would not be a good "only" dog. I am not use to walking on a leash, as we never had collars on when we were in our previously home. We always stayed around when we were in the yard. Once the weather gets nicer, FM will be taking us on walks to see how we do on a leash. The roads out here have been very icy, so we have not been going on walks.

I want to thank anonymous for my mitten, the mitten from the other anonymous who wishes a Merry Christmas to us Golden Seniors, and Friends of Flicka for my star in memory of Bear. Your donations are really helpful and appreciated. Thanks again so very much.

I went to the vet for my yearly check up. I weighed in at 42.8 pounds. The good doctor said that I looked really good. We have my topical yeast infection and hot spots under control. I am on a very very low dose of prednisone every other day and I am doing really well.

We have had company from time to time with children lately and I have really enjoyed playing with them and having them here. Of course I know that they came to only see me.  :)  :)

I am still my sweet lovable and cuddly self. I would love to show you how sweet and lovable that I am. Please contact your Placement Advisor if you want to find out.

The majority of the time, whenever you see me I am with my son Santana (10-027). We spend a lot of time together.

Here I am after a hard play session with Santana.

There certainly has been a lot of hustle and bustle around here lately, but Foster Mom still takes the time to play, play, play with me and love, love, love on me.

Also, there has been many times that there have been kids over and when they come over, I really love it as I get to play, play, play some more.

We haven't had any snow yet that I can play in, but Foster Mom says that it will be coming. She just doesn't know when.

I have said this many times before, that I really love it here, but Santana (my son) and I really do need to have our own furever home. If you can stand all of the lovin' that you ever wanted, then we are the puppers just for you.

I have been a bad girl and have not updated myself in a long time. This summer was busy with lots of company with kids and that meant fun, fun, fun, and LOTS of playing, playing, playing. I was in seventh heaven. I have been really good and continue being the bestest girl. I've gotten more white in my face, but that just gives me character. This place is a really good place to be, but I am still waiting for that just right furever family. They just do not know what they are missing. If you think you are that furever family, let your placement advisor know and I will give you all the loving that you can stand.

We love being outside...

And...we love playing together

We play a lot inside too

I used to look like a raccoon, but now I have more white on my face

I'm sure a happy girl!

Saturday, June 30, 2012

I know that I have not done an update on myself in quite awhile, but I want all to know that I am doing really well. It has gotten hot here, so I am not able to stay outside as long as I like or to play ball, ball, ball outside. I am waiting for that wonderful family out there to take me and my son Santana home to get all the loving that they want. I love love love kids so that would be a plus.

I love chewing on all the bones in the house.

I also love sitting outside enjoying the weather.

If I can't see you, then you can't see me. :) :)

Saturday, January 7, 2012

This was certainly a busy holiday season around the foster home. I want to thank the person/s who donated a holiday icon for me in memory of their Zera and Athena, my anonymous holiday icon donor, and also my Goldzilla Friend anonymous donor. They are very much appreciated. Thanks again so much.

I continue to do so very well. I have compiled a list of things that I want you to know.

  • I am very social. I love everybody. I love my humans and kids of all ages. Especially the kids that come to visit and play, play, play with me.
  • I get along with other dogs. There have been eight dogs here at once before and there has been no problems.
  • I have free roam of the house, both day and night. I am potty trained and do not chew things up.
  • I love, love, love to play with tenny balls and to play, play, play with my son Santana. I will play once in awhile with resident dog Jake, but mostly play with my son Santana.
  • I do not resource guard my food and I sit nicely when told to when FM puts my food down and wait until I am told that I can eat. I also sit very nicely for my treats.
  • I like to ride in the car.
  • I love to go for a walk. I also love to go down with Santana and FM to get the paper in the morning and the mail in the afternoon. I sit very nicely at the end of the driveway when told to sit and wait. Then when FM gets back from going across, I know I can go run back up to the house.
  • There are 4 indoor cats here and 5 outdoor/barn cats here. I do not chase any of them. I just ignore them.
  • I can be outside in front without a leash as long as FM is there. I like to go off investigating with Santana, but when told to come back, I do.
  • I am a love bug and love to snuggle.
  • I love to be brushed and I sit well for my baths.

At the end of this month, I will have been with my foster family for two years and as much as I love it here, I would really like to have a furever home to call my own. You would not be disappointed to have all the love that you could stand. If you think my Santana and I will fit into your family and you would like to meet us, please let your placement advisor know. You will not be disappointed.

We weren't too sure about our Christmas bandanas,

Just checking in to tell you that things here are really good. I continue to be the bestest of girls. I am having lots of fun chasing those balls, balls, balls out in the nice beautiful weather. In this picture I am playing with a new toy that mom handed to Santana, but when he turned his head I  snatched it away from me. That wasn't very nice of me, but I wanted it!!. I love to carry toys like this around and sometimes I just lay with them. Santana and I are looking for that wonderful furever home. Is that your home? If it is, contact your placement advisor please.

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Boy, am I loving this cooler weather. It means play ball, ball, and more ball. FM would not let me play ball when it was so hot out. She said it was not good for me to get that hot and tired. I hate to brag on myself, but I continue to do very well and continue being a love bug. I am waiting for that furever home so Santana and I can give you ALL the loving that you would ever need or want. Please contact your placement advisor so we can get the ball rolling here. Hope to see you real soon.

Did soneone say treats!!??

Oh boy....FM opened the freezer. I'm sitting nicely for my ice cube.

Thursday, June 16, 2011

I know that it has been a looooong time since I have been on this plastic box to give everyone an update on me. There is nothing new about me other than I still continue to be a wonderful pupper and a real love bug. I do think though that I have gotten whiter around my eyes and my nose, but FM says that it makes me look distinguished. I am soooo glad that I am able to go outside again and play ball ball ball.

As you can see, I am still carrying around the big bone wobbie. There is also a big red one that I also carry around all the time and many times Santana and I are playing tug with one of them.

Happy Spring to the Golden Seniors from Anonymous Happy Spring to the Golden Seniors from Anonymous

Monday, February 7, 2011

I'm late, I'm late to give you an update. I have been with FM and FD for a year now and I continue to do very well. I have been back to the vet for my yearly shots and I weigh 57 pounds. I am down 9 1/2 pounds from when I first came here. I sure am looking very good. I am in very good shape except for an ear infection that we are getting cleared up. I am on a grain free food which has really helped with my itching. I really like it. We have had lots and lots of snow lately and I just love to roll in it and get my face in it. I still love love love to play ball, but boy is it hard to find the ball in all of that snow. Since I love to bury my face in the snow, it sure is fun to go digging to find the ball. FM just can not say enough about me and how good I am. FD tells me all the time what a good girl I am. Again I say, if you want all the love that you can stand, please contact your placement advisor and check me out.

It sure was a hard day at play today.

Having fun in the snow.

My son Santana and I love to play chase in the snow.

It's past due time to tell you that I am still doing really really well. I have been saying my prayers that I find that wonderful "fur"ever home. I just love it here, but a "fur"ever home of our own would really be GReat. Bath time was last night and boy do I smell good and look pretty. I hide until it is my time and then FD has to come and find me. Once I get into the tub, I am okay and I don't give FD any trouble. There is really nothing new report about me. I still continue to be wonderful and very loving. I am still using all the manners I have learned here and FM is so proud of me. I hope all had a Happy Thanksgiving. I have a lot to be thankful for. I let FM know every day, that I am thankful for her wonderful care, with all of my love. (That also gets me lots of pets and hugs!!!!) If you think that your "fur"ever home is the one for my son Santana and me, please contact your placement advisor so FM can talk to you and answer all of your questions. We would LOVE to see Santa at your house.

Here we are waiting at the end of the driveway for
FM to go across the road to get the paper or the mail.

One of our play sessions.

One of our rest sessions.

I still continue to do well here in my Great foster home. I have learned something new. When I first got here, when we ate, I got to just dig in to my food. Then I had to learn to "sit" before I could eat and now I have learned to sit and "wait" before I eat. I wait until FM says "good puppers, you can eat." When I "wait", I look at FM, but Santana looks at his food like he is ready to dig in.

See how nice we wait to eat until we are told we are "good puppers"

I still do well on my walks and when we go down to get the paper or the mail.

On Oct. 16th from, 11:30-2:00, I will be at the Pet Expo in the 4H building at the fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa with my son Santana. I hope that I get to meet lots of people that just fall in love with us. We love it here at our foster home, but really really want to have a forever home of our own. If you would like ALL the love that you can stand, then we are the puppers just for you, so contact your placement advisor and ask about us.

Friday, August 20, 2010

FM says that I am slacking on my duties and that I really need to get an update sent in. This will sound like a broken record, but I continue to do very well. The last couple of days have been really nice without all of the humidity, so I got to play play play outside. FM has been taking Santana and I down with her to get the paper in the morning and the mail in the afternoon. When we get to the end of the driveway she puts me in a "sit, stay." FM goes across the road to get the paper or the mail and I sit and wait for her to come back across. When she gets back across, she tells me that I am a good girl and that is my clue to go run, chase, and play with Santana.

I continue to do well on our walks. FM has been teaching me some new manners. I know that I have to sit before I get to eat my breakfast and my supper, but FM is teaching me to "wait" before I dive into my food. I am doing very well. I do not start eating until I hear "good puppers, you can eat."

Please contact your placement advisor if you wish to receive more info on me. I just know that there is a perfect family out there for my son and me.

I likes to pull this blanket off of the couch and then we play in it.
What do you mean we are being silly?

I play hard and I sleep hard.

Thursday, July 1, 2010

It's time to let all know what has been going on with me. I still continue to be the bestest girl. FM's friend and her daughter came to visit two weekends ago. What fun and Alyssa got to stay with us for the week. Boy, did we have fun. We played ball, played chase, played ball, went for walks, and played ball. Did I mention that we played ball? Then FM's friend came back last weekend with two more kids. I LOVE company and I LOVE kids. We played ball and ball and ball and ball. After they all left on Sunday, I laid by the back door waiting for them to come back, so I could play with the kids. They have not come back yet, but I am still waiting by the back door in case they do come back.

If you want all the lovin' and fun that you can get, let your placement person know that you are interested in me and my son. We would love to hear from you. If you have kids that will play with us, that would be sooooo GReat.

I love rolling in the grass. Feels sooooo good!

This is where I stand waiting for my
breakfast and my supper to be made.

As you can see, the couches here are VERY comfy!!!!!!

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

Okay....I got caught and FM says that I cannot be on here long because it is starting to storm and we have to shut this plastic box down. I continue to be such a good girl. FM and FD have had some company lately and I know that they came here to see just mememe because I just love love love love all the pets. I am still doing well on my walks, but some days we have not been able to go real far, because it has been really humid here and FM says that she does not want me to get over heated. But I would go farther if I could. FM says that I am such a good girl that I will be at the RAGOM picnic on Saturday. Oh boy. Oh boy. More people to love on me and give me pets. I know that when you also read about my son Santana that it is almost the same as mine, but we are so much like two peas in a pod that we just do everything just a like. Uh oh. I gotta go. FM needs to turn off this plastic box because it is lightning and thundering out side. Until next time.

If you want ALL the love you can get and two of the best puppers ever, please contact your placement advisors and tell them that you would like to talk to my FM.

We just love breakfast and dinner time and of course we eat together.

Here we are with one of our favorite toys. There are two of these
in the house and we just LOVE them. They squeak really good.
We carry these around a lot and sometimes play tug of war with them.

Sunday, May 9, 2010

FM has been very very busy with baby goats and has not been on this plastic box much and has not had it on for me to get on here to tell everyone how wonderful I am. I continue to be a very good girl and I still continue to do very well on my walks. FM and FD have had company a couple of times lately and I got to play ball - A LOT of ball. I LOVE to play ball.

I wanted to go and see the baby goats, but FM would not let me. She said that since I bark at the cows now and then, that if I was to bark at the baby goats, that I would scare them.

If you would like to have lots and lots of loving and two of the bestest dogs ever, please talk to your placement advisor about Santana and me. You WILL not be disappointed.

I always wait like a good girl in the background for my food to stay out of FM's way,
unlike everybody else who is under her feet.

Here I am just posing with my son, Santana 10-027,
to show you my pretty face.

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

FM says that I am lacking in my duties and that I really need to get in an up date on me. I continue to do very well. FM says that I am just the best girl. The last time I was weighed, I weighed 62.8. So I am down 4 lbs. from when I came to be with my foster family. The walks that FM is taking me on are helping me to get my girly figure. In my former home I never wore a collar or was on a leash. I am doing really well when we go for a walk. I do very well with my collar and leash on. I walk right beside my FM on one side while my son Santana is on the other side. I really do enjoy my walks and sit very nice when I get my leash put on.

We had lots of company this week end. My FD's parents had their 65th wedding anniversary on Saturday and we had lots of family here. There were kids here and I really had lots and lots of fun playing with them. They were ages 2 1/2 to 8.

Along with everything I know, I also know down and drop it. I mind very well. FM keeps telling me that I am just the bestest. Everybody that meets us just falls in love with us. If you would like a very very loving mother and son, please let your placement advisor know.

Here I am with one of my favorite woobies. It is never far from me and usually always with me.
My son, Santana 10-027, and I spend a lot of time together and we are like two peas in a pod.

Monday, March 15, 2010

I need to give you an update on how I am doing. I was spayed and I am doing really well. I have lost three pounds and I am now 63.70 pounds. I like riding in the car, but I really did miss my son, Santana, when I was gone to be spayed. When we got home, I didn't even want to go out and go potty. All I wanted to do was to go in the house and see Santana. We sure did do the happy dance when we saw each other.

Now that the snow has been melting and it has been raining some, it is really wet in the back yard. FM thinks it is really cute that I know "wipe your feet." When I come into the house she will tell me "wipe your feet" and I will sit on the towel until my feet dry some or she wipes my feet off for me. I come when my name is called. I know "sit, no, quit, come here, off, easy" (when we are getting treats), and we are working on "down." I LOVE to play ball, but since it has been so wet out in the yard, we haven't played ball much. I sure am hoping it dries up soon.

I am fine when I am left at home as long as there is another dog there. When someone comes to the door I bark at them until they come in the door and then I am fine. I am a real love bug and love my belly rubs. As you can tell from the pictures below, I really do love my son and we do soooo much together. We are usually never far apart. If you can stand all the love and enjoyment we have to give, please talk to your placement advisor. We would love to give you that love and enjoyment.

I love to sleep with my head under the bed.
If I could get under the bed, I would.
