Welcome Chi Chi Be to the RAGOM family!! Chi Chi Be is a petite gal full of pep, 13 years old, 45 lbs. She came in with her son Rex; they are a bonded pair that must be adopted together. Rex and Chi Chi Be look out for each other and do most everything together. They are just adorable!!!
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

06/05/2017:

We have introduced Chi Chi Be to walks on the trail which she loves. Chi Chi Be walks well on a leash, has excellent recall, and sits on command. She did not appreciate getting a bath and tried to jump out of the tub several times, but she loved the end result. She did what I would call a crazy dog circuit rolling around, rubbing the carpet, and asking for more towel-drying time. She enjoyed getting brushed as long as it was with a tender touch.

Chi Chi Be was vetted on 5/31 with results as follows:

  • Heartworm negative
  • Fecal negative
  • Brought up to date on all vaccinations
  • She has chronic ear infections. The first step in resolving this was applying medication to eliminate ear mites. The second step is the application of a liquid medicine in the ear for 2-3 weeks. Then it is back to the vet to determine the next step.

Chi Chi Be will be unavailable until her ear issues are resolved.

Rex and Chi Chi Be have found their forever home together as a bonded pair!!! They are awesome dogs in every way, and we will very much miss having them in our foster home. Their adoptive family is a perfect fit. Without a doubt, they will be happy there with the endless cuddles and attention they love!

Chi Chi Be's ear infections have cleared up, although we are continuing daily medication for the next couple of weeks just to be safe. After that, she will need any adopter to be vigilant and do weekly ear cleanings. It is the usual routine of squirting some solution in her ear and massaging it. She is used to it and does not put up a fuss. It is not that future infections are expected, but it is important to take preventive care seriously and handle any issues ASAP.

Chi Chi Be is over-the-top happy to have Rex recovered from surgery and able to wrestle in the yard! These action pictures may be blurry, but speak volumes on the fun level! Note that Mom is in the lead.

If you think Chi Chi Be and Rex would be a good fit in your home, please submit an "Inquiry for Application" form. If you have already filled out an "Inquiry for Application" form, please send an email to applicationatragom [dot] org with Chi Chi Be's and Rex's names, their RAGOM numbers, the name you submitted the Inquiry for Application form under, and a sentence or two why you feel you'd be a good match.

Chi Chi Be has not been outside too much, but has been spending most of her time keeping an eye on Rex as he recovers.

Chi Chi Be had very good results at her 2-week vet recheck. The vet saw better-than-expected improvement with ear mites/infection and thought another month of daily medication would do the trick. Such awesome news!! I can already tell that she is much more comfortable.

And as always, Chi Chi Be and Rex are side by side.

Chi Chi Be is such a sweet dog. I still cannot believe she is 13 years old! She runs and plays with Rex as if they were the same age. She sleeps on the floor in our bedroom, but is eager to jump up on the bed for morning cuddles. We have also learned Chi Chi Be and Rex love car rides. If any car door is open, they will jump in and only exit with some coaxing. To satisfy them a little, we have been taking them to visit our elderly mother who lives nearby. They get their car fix, Mom gets her cute-dog fix, and we get someone else to help provide that much-deserved attention--it's a win-win! Another favorite is time spent outside in the yard.
