Here are a few photos of Denver enjoying his new life!

Monday, April 30, 2018

Denver has been adopted by a great family and will have a wonderful mom and two fur sisters to play with and love.

Denver's life started out rough but it is all "Gold" now after RAGOM stepped up to give him the life he deserves. From Auction House to a home where he will never be cold or hungry or neglected again.

Denver was shut down when he came into RAGOM and has always been cautious of people, but when "his person" came to meet him he could not keep from looking at her, and when he finally made eye contact... that was it for him. Denver has found his person!!!

Denver is doing so well in his foster home. He needs lots more exposure to new things to help him overcome his fears, but he is learning and having some good experiences. He continues to be a sweet and sensitive boy without a mean bone in his body. Even when eating a smoked butcher beef bone, he just wants to be close to his buddy.

Denver is now staying out of his kennel and likes to relax in the family room.

Welcome to a new and improved Denver. Denver is loving his new life as a family member. He has now become more like a typical eight-month-old puppy! He loves to play and wrestle with other dogs and will do so for hours.

Next to playing with another dog, his favorite thing is to retrieve. He retrieves balls, rope toys, Frisbee - anything you can throw, he can retrieve and he loves it! Denver has a very soft mouth and will bring the toy right to your feet and drop it, waiting for you to pick it up again and toss it for him. However, he can destuff a soft toy in record time.

Denver has had only one accident in the house on the third day here. I am home during the day, so Denver is let out multiple times a day to relieve himself. He sleeps all night in his crate in my bedroom along with the other dogs.

Denver has come so far in his walking since the first tentative walk on my property when he first came. He is gaining confidence each day. Denver needs a confident dog to show him things are not so scary on a walk. When we are walking and pass other dogs or people, he just trucks along with my resident dog who does not react to anything but just keeps walking calmly ahead.

This is what Denver will need in his forever home:

1.  At least one large confident dog to learn from and to play with.

2.  A home with much patience as new things - and sometimes old things - still frighten him, and he is still a flight risk.

3.  Someone who is home for a good part of the day, as he is still very young in his head and needs direction and boundaries set with love and patience.

4.  Someone who is committed to taking him to obedience classes and beyond.

Denver is a very gentle and sensitive dog. You can take anything away from him without so much as him giving you a look. He is a puppy, and that means he will get into trouble if he is not properly exercised and you need to keep an eye on him when he is not behind the baby gate. Eye glasses, remote controls, cell phones, hats, mittens... are all fair game, and he will chew on the end of a rug or the deck steps; some bitter apple took care of that.

Denver is looking for a home that will make him a priority and commit to helping him be the best dog he can be.

Denver still needs his neuter surgery before being adopted and should be ready for his new home the last week of April.

Denver is one of the many dogs RAGOM has been able to rescue from a large commercial breeding facility. Like most of these dogs, he has never felt grass, seen a tree, played with a toy, or had a chance to know how wonderful it is to be loved.

When Denver first arrived in his foster home, he would not walk, but only cower on a leash and had to be carried everywhere. He has now been in foster care for three weeks and is becoming more like an 8-month-old puppy.

Denver is by nature submissive and very sweet. He will require a home with unlimited patience and at least one confident dog that can also be a play partner and likes to wrestle.

Denver will require more time in his foster home to gain confidence before he will be ready to be adopted.

Keep watching for updates on this beautiful boy!
