Goldie 13-252

Profile

In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Entered Foster Care Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
6/9/2014 Optional Yes Prefers to be the only dog Unknown
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Welcome, Goldie! Goldie is a healthy, 84-pound pure Golden who is spayed and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. She entered foster care on June 9, 2014.

Goldie loves people of all ages and is very calm around children. She knows basic commands like come, sit, shake, no, and down. Goldie is crate trained and house trained. She does well in her crate during the workday. Goldie does not jump up on the furniture on her own, but will happily do so when invited. Right now, she sleeps on her dog bed in the bedroom at night. She’s also used to sleeping in her crate at night.

Goldie enjoys bath time and loves being groomed. Her favorite things are to play with a tennis ball and go swimming. She will eagerly fetch a stick in the water and acts like a hippo, submerging her whole body in the water. She also enjoys car rides and will lay quietly in the backseat. Goldie doesn’t mind thunderstorms, but is afraid of the vacuum cleaner. It’s best to keep her away or in her crate while vacuuming.

Goldie is a perfect example of age only being a number. You’d never guess she’s 10 years old with the way she gets excited to go on walks or runs! She prances along and sets a healthy pace. Her recall is quite good and she comes readily when called. While inside, she is quite content to sleep at your feet or on her bed. When Goldie is really excited or happy, she will spin in circles.

Goldie prefers to be the only pet in her home. She has displayed aggression towards other dogs in the past, particularly around food. While in foster care, she has been a true sweetheart and has behaved well when she came across other dogs on her walks. Strangers are always commenting on how beautiful Goldie is. She doesn’t know this, but her curls are the envy of everyone!

Sweet Goldie came to us 3 1/4 years ago. She was somewhat shy but learned to love us and the rest of our extended family. She became my 24/7 girl and was also very partial to her Momma. Goldie loved to go on walks, swim, and chase tennis balls. Her favorite treats were peanut butter bones. She slept with us every night until her illness made her too warm. She had many tumors in her lungs but pressed on for 3 more months after diagnosis. She gave love freely and really opened her heart to a happy life at the lake. I held her head to my chest so she could hear my heart as she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. She will forever live on in our hearts.

Thank you Ragom for allowing us to adopt Goldie. We will heal up again and hopefully adopt another Senior who needs us as much as we need them.

Sincerely,

Kirk and Bethany L. In memory of Sweet Goldie Girl #13-252, and previously Bella #12-253.

Goldie came  to us 3 years ago today.  She is now 12.5 years old.  She moved with us to the cabin and she loves it there.  Unfortunately Goldie has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer.  She also has had 2 bouts of Ideopathic vestibular disease.  She is comfortable and is getting extra love and treats as she should.  We love her so much and will make her comfortable through out this journey.  She still has nudges and tail wags for all the special people in her life.  She started out being somewhat shy and scared when she came to live with us. Goldie is now a very confident, happy, regular Golden.  She is a fantastic companion and a large part of our family. She is very strong and will continue to live the golden life the rest of her days. Sincerely, Kirk, Bethany, and Sweet Goldie.

We have had sweet Goldie girl for 2 years on June 22nd.  She came to us very full of energy and a bit shy around people and especially other dogs.  She has blossomed into a very loving and giving dog who greets new people with a wet nose and a spinning circle.  She has gotten better with other dogs and now has a few dogs friends she likes to be around.  Goldie loves her daily walks and really enjoys napping in her favorite spots.  It seems her real passion is swimming.  She will chase a squeaky tennis ball into the water but really likes to free swim off the end of the dock.  Her last session was 1.5 hours.  She chases fish and occasionally she dunks her whole head under the water for a rock or whatever has her interest.  Very cute and fun to watch.  She loves truck rides, and really enjoys boat rides.  She has been a true joy to have in our life.  Her health is fairly good for almost 12 years old.  She has sore hips after a long day and needs help to get up on the bed or into the truck.  We have recently moved to the cabin so Goldie will enjoy the rest of her senior years at the lake.  I think it is her favorite spot in the world right now.  When I work outside she loves to lay on the deck and watch.  She always keeps us in her field of view.  Goldie and I spend almost 24/7 together.  She truly is my best friend in this world and we can’t thank RAGOM enough for letting us adopt her. Goldie has brought all her love to us just as our previous RAGOM Girl Bella #12-253 did before her.   Life is good as it gets when you have a senior sweetie like Goldie.

Sweet Goldie girl has been with us 1 year now.  She has completely opened herself to us and the world over the last few months.  She is very engaging now and warmly approaches everyone she sees.  She loves to be petted and will lean on you to show her appreciation.  She still loves the truck rides to the cabin and has become a big fan of Pontoon and speed boat rides.  She will swim all day if you let her.  We experience her love for the water every time we let her out the lakeside door at the cabin. She takes off running and asks for permission with her eyes as she looks back to us  before she jumps in the lake.  She truly has a sweet heart and loves her tummy scratched and has begun rolling completely on her back to make sure you don’t miss a spot.  She sleeps between us for most of the night unless she gets too warm, then she jumps to her own bed and releases a big sigh to let us know she is comfortable. She likes her own time too.  She will curl up on her bed or on the couch and take a nap when she is tired from a walk or playing in the water.  She also loves squeaky tennis balls and can be heard prancing through the house or cabin squeaking as she goes.  She has brought joy to our lives and has won over all of our family and friends.  We are so lucky to have her in our life.  To see her experience and give unconditional love, freedom, joy and happiness is priceless.

Thank you RAGOM for giving us the chance to have such a beautiful Golden senior like Goldie.

Sincerely,

Kirk and Beth

Hello.  We have had Sweet Goldie Girl for  just over 7 months now.  She has completely adapted to our life style and she has won over our entire extended family.  She loves her daily walks and tennis ball sessions.  Squeakers are her favorite. Goldie goes everywhere with us. She loves truck rides and claims the back seat as hers.  You just have to walk towards the truck and she is ready to go.  The cabin is 90 miles from Burnsville and Goldie snoozes the whole way.  She has gotten sweeter and sweeter as the days go by.  We are even getting some kisses now and then.  She is still sleeping right between us at night and is a bit of a bed hog, but we don’t mind one bit.  Her gentle sighs during the night are very reassuring to us that she is happy to be with us. She has gotten much better with other dogs and even had a sleep over at the cabin with a very rambunctious springer named Briggs.  They did great together.  Goldie seems to love the snow.  She runs around with 1-2 tennis balls in her mouth and seems to be really enjoying herself.  I think her confidence is at its peak and she knows she isn’t going anywhere.  She is pretty much Velcro with me as I am with her almost 24/7 of every day.  She will take her own time too which is great.  She will quietly go to one of the dog beds, or the couch, and take a quick nap.  As you can probably tell, we are head over heels in love with her and couldn’t imagine life without her.  I have attached a few pictures from Christmas as well as others.  Thanks again RAGOM for doing what you do.  We loved Bella #12-253 so much and now we love Goldie exactly the same way.

Thank you,

Kirk, Bethany, and of course Goldie

We have been with Goldie almost 4 months now and she is really thriving.  She has her routines down pat, and loves her daily walks and swimming while at the lake.  She had a great summer where she learned to ride in the pontoon, fish, paddle board, and chase geese across the lake. We wonder if she was a hunter at some point prior to her life with us.  Her warm and loving ways have completely come out as she shows affection to everyone she meets.  She is a leaner.  She presses her whole body against your legs when she really likes you.  She has a special relationship with her Grandpa as he always has a treat in his pocket for her.  Goldie listens so well and just wants to be with us.  She and I are together almost 24/7.  I miss her as much as she misses me when we are not together, so she goes everywhere with me.  She has been sleeping right between us at night which we love as much as she does.  Goldie seems to be embracing the fall.  We are very excited to see how she likes the snow.  She will get to ice fish and take long walks on the lake.  We will update more when the snow flies.  We love Goldie  so much and can’t imagine life without her.  Thanks again to Ragom for letting us adopt such a senior sweetie.

Sincerely,

Kirk, Bethany, and of course Goldie

We have had Goldie in our lives for 1 month now and she is doing extremely well.  She has adapted well to us and the rest of the family.  She is a pure water dog who loves to fetch but will also just swim around on her own looking for fish or bobbers.  She stays very close to us and listens very well when off her leash at the cabin.  She likes truck, boat and Golf cart rides.  Her personality is shining through more and more each day.  She has met many other dogs and has done extremely well with all of them.  She has free run of our house and cabin and has already found her favorite spots to lounge and sleep.  Her favorite toy is the squeaky tennis ball.  She is showing more and more affection and her confidence seems to be soaring.  We have scored big once again with adopting a RAGOM Senior.  Thanks to all and more updates to come.

We adopted Goldie this past Sunday.  She has been so sweet while adapting to our life and home.  She has got to be one of the sweetest Golden's I have ever met.  She loved her first 2 walks with us and has a lot of room to play outside. She has fit into our life seamlessly  and we love her already.  Here is a picture of her after our walk today.  She finds our bed to be pretty comfy.  She is off to the cabin tomorrow and  we can't wait to see her swim and play.  More pictures to come!

Thank you to Ragom for bringing her home to Us!  Also, thank you to Elise, Kristin and Kaia for doing what they do!

Sincerely,

Kirk and Beth and Goldie!!!
