Hi Guys.  I'm Grizzly Bear and I am ready to find my forever family.  My silly ole FM called me Bear, but can't figure out why she didn't know Bear is my middle name and everybody calls me Grizz.  I had to tell her if she wants my attention Grizz is what it is!  Now I am just waiting for my forever last name.

I am seven and a half years old, weigh 85lbs. which that doctor guy said was just right.  Knew that, a guy has to keep his figure.  I have lived with my other family my whole life and they loved me very much and I miss them, but they had to move clear across the country and they couldn't keep me, so they knew RAGOM would find me a great new family.

I am really starting to like living here with FM and FD and pup Jackson.  I get to roam the yard with FD and ride in the truck all the time and he has already put me to work.  We love the birds and so I have been put on squirrel patrol and even if I do say so myself, I am doing a great job.  Oh, gotta run, one of those pesky guys is climbing up that feeder.  GRIZZ to the RESCUE-----!!!

Grizz has been with us for about 10 days and on the third day we went to a ballgame and it began to rain.  When we got home about a half hour later, Grizz had chewed the wallboard by our basement door.  He was panicking and wanted out.  He came with some anxiety meds for storms which we should have given him.  Grizzly was upset and unsure of everything that had been happening to him.  It rained a few days later when my husband was home and he was just fine.  Guess we will find out what fireworks does in a few days.

Aside from our basement incident which was not all his fault, Grizz has been the easiest foster we have had.  What a great guy!!  He just likes to hang out with us, has nice manners, walks on the flat collar or harness, gentle and loving to everyone, and totally house-trained. He does bark when someone comes to the door, probably saying come on in.  When he has to go out in the morning, he will lay his head on the bed and stare until you get up.  Grizz has free roam when we are home and the little we are gone he and Jack stay in the basement until we know the anxiety is gone.

Grizz came from a loving family, had all his shots, HW meds and only needed micro-chipped.  The vet did take some x-rays, as he walks somewhat oddly and we could tell his spine was crooked.  Well doc thinks he was born with crooked vertebrae and ribs on his left side that are kind of crunched together, but his hips are perfect and he has learned to adapt and can walk, run and play like any other pupper.  He probably would not be a dog for a jogger but vet said walks are just great.

If you are looking for one handsome guy, a loyal companion and great bud to hang with, look no farther than the big ole teddy bear of a guy called Grizzly Bear!!

Sweetie--Pretty Boy Bear here.  That's what FM called me after my bath.  It felt so good and I just loved having my hair brushed.  My hair is growing back (still has a ways to go) but I look quite handsome if I do say so myself.

FM laughed at me today.  She was vacuuming and I don't know why she wanted me to move.  I thought I'd just life my paw and she could sweep around me.  Gosh, didn't she know it was naptime.

Not much else to report, it's been so hot we have kept close to home.  We do walk 2 miles in the morning and I help FD get the mail and play a little ball in the evening.

I sure wish my family could find me.  I love it here but a forever family would be awesome!  I love people, young and old, cats, dogs, showing off my tricks, napping, breakfast & supper.  Oh yeah, TREATS, I love my treats.  Talk soon -- I hear movement in the kitchen and it might be watermelon. YUM!

Grizzly Bear (aka as teddy, lovey-bear) continues to melt our hearts.  I've mentioned before what an easy guy to have around.

We have added a new member to the fold, Shadow 12-243 and our Grizz never missed a beat.  The more the merrier he says!  We do not know, but think Grizz was an only because when he first came, he didn't seem to know how to play with other dogs.  He is playing more every day with our Jack and now he acts like the tough guy, but he can't quite pull it off.

We think the basement incident was pure stress as we have had several thunder and lightning days (just very tiny bits of rain) and Grizz did not pay one bit of attention to the storm.  He doesn't like the heat but who in his right mind does!

The grandkids were here for a few days and Grizzly Bear happily embraced lots of kisses, hugs and bossiness. He continues to love his walks and car-rides and I believe he could fit in almost any families' home and hearts.

Hey people, don't you know it's HOT out here!!!!

There is only one way to describe Grizzly Bear and that is "honey bun." What a gentle soul and easy guy to foster. Nothing is more important than his peeps and especially foster Dad. He helps FD in the yard all morning long, gets the mail and anything else that involves that wonderful pickup.

Last week our granddaughters, ages 1 and 3 and our 3-year-old grandson spent most of the week with us and Grizz never skipped a beat. Mellow with all of them and would sit and shake for our 3 year olds (ANYTHING for a treat!) Grizz probably should be dieting this weak cause that was so fun and the treats were a'flowing!

He is so cute. As I mentioned his job is to try and keep those pesky squirrels from raiding the bird feeders and we will open the patio door and he will sneak out and very cat-like try to surprise his prey. We are hoping he will annoy them enough the squirrels will decide to take up residence in some non-birdfeeders yard. Grizz chases them up a tree and trots right back in the house. He has wonderful recall.

I hope that pesky guy doesn't see me!

Grizz knows sit, stay, down, shake and can catch a treat off his nose. Possibly more and we haven't discovered it yet. He has never gotten on any furniture or chewed anything lying about. He plays a little more each day and evidently his previous family played tug-of-war, cause that is his very favorite game.

I think Grizzly Bear needs to live with a family that is not gone long hours. He does seem to suffer some separation anxiety and cries when we leave. Another dog would help him relax. Also, he would do best with a walking family (he walks quite nicely on a flat collar) and not joggers or runners. Other than that, he could go to most any type of a family. He is a love bug.

In the pictures you will notice his tail and rear end are shaved and the rest of his hair has been cut. He came that way and we are guessing he had been quite matted. It's growing back and he will be a beauty.

If you want a great companion who is absolutely easy to live with, look no farther than the "Grizz Man".

Do I smell rabbit or squirrel or some other wonderfully gross smell?
