Gunner has found his forever family! His new home is on a lake. He will not only get to swim, but also go on walks, play tug-of-war, and have lots of love and attention.
Gunner happily greeted the L. family when they first met him. He showed them how he chases his tail. He gave kisses. He jumped eagerly into their car, ready to begin living the Golden Life.

Gunner came to my home a week ago. At first, he was not sure what to make of my overly exuberant resident dogs. After just a couple of days, though, he now likes to play with them in the yard.
Gunner walks well on a leash. On our walks, he is happy just looking around at the sights or sniffing the new smells. We did encounter a rabbit and some ducks, and I discovered that Gunner understands "leave it."
He knows "sit" as well as "lay down," too. At snack time, he gently takes treats, patiently waiting his turn.
Gunner is housetrained. He will start pacing and give a soft whine when he needs to go out.
He sleeps in the bedroom on the floor or on his dog bed. I wish my dogs were as quiet as he is at night!
He gets a bit curious about what is up on the kitchen counters and has to take a look. In his previous home, he stole some goodies left on the counter. He does this only when nobody is watching the kitchen, so I just keep all food put away to avoid the temptation.
In his previous home, it was reported that he was digging in the yard. In my home, I haven't yet seen any digging. He explores the yard, plays with my dogs, or relaxes near me on the deck.
He respects the gate I use to keep the dogs away from the front door entryway. He joins in with my dogs when they bark at Foster Dad coming home from work or when a delivery person drops off a package.
He used to live on a lake and loves to swim. I was told he doesn't like fireworks or gunfire noise. We've had a couple mild thunderstorms, and they did not bother him.
