Heidi has been adopted! She now has a Golden sister who was adopted 2 years ago from RAGOM. They have become best buddies. And there is a feline brother who thinks Heidi is okay! Plus a wonderful mom and dad who adore her. And the best part is she will be living close by, so we will get to see her continue to blossom. We are so happy for the entire family!!!

Heidi is a sweet little girl who is adapting to life in America. She is thin with fur that feels like hay.  But it is amazing what just one week of good nutrition has done! Her fur is becoming softer, and she is slowly gaining weight. She loves her food and guards it zealously, so she is fed separately and will probably need to continue that for quite a while - until she realizes that she will never be starving again.

She was very shy at first, but is becoming much more social. She plays with all of our dogs and with Milo who is also from Turkey. She has not been around cats or children at this point. Children should be older in her adoptive home as she is very food-driven. She has not had any accidents in the house and sleeps all night. We are currently using a crate when we’re gone and at night - she will often go into her crate by herself to rest or chew on a chew toy.

She pulls hard on a leash, so we have started using a harness which has been helpful. She loves to run around in the back yard. She will chase balls when Milo isn’t around (she knows that he will always get there first!). She will rest quietly in the house and is starting to cuddle.

She would probably do best in a home with another confident dog.
