Handsome Huxley has been adopted! He has a mom and dad who already love him, and a little two-legged brother who will be his best buddy. Lucky Huxley has horses in his back yard and 20 acres to call home. His family has experience with therapy dogs so we’re all hopeful Huxley's future includes therapy work! We’ll miss you big guy, but we know you have a wonderful life in front of you.

Huxley has been in our home a week now. We love this boy! Huxley would like to send a special thank you to the B family for allowing him to spend time with them before he moved to our house.
Huxley is still very much a puppy. He likes to chew but still needs to learn the difference between his chew toys and other items. He thinks it’s OK to put his feet on the counter to see if there’s any food up for grabs. He’s been accident free but we’re treating him like a puppy, taking him outside frequently and making sure he’s well supervised when in the house. It is hilarious when he entertains himself by throwing his balls and toys around, and then pouncing on them. He is crated at night and when we’re gone.
Huxley loves to play with our two Goldens, Josie and Corky. He was friendly to a 10# dog he met over Christmas.
In spite of his size (he can comfortably rest his head on our kitchen table!), Huxley is very gentle. One of his favorite things to do is lay his head on our laps, close his eyes, and give a heavy sigh as we pet him. Huxley spent New Year’s Eve with our 3 and 5 year old grandchildren. Huxley was very gentle with the kids and wasn’t bothered by their loud voices and quick movements.
Huxley is very smart and wants to please, so it’s been a joy teaching him good manners. He can now sit, down, and heel if he’s walked alone. It will be very important for Huxley’s family to take him to obedience class so he can continue to learn good manners. Foster Mom thinks Huxley would make a great candidate for therapy work.
