Hello, RAGOM friends! My name is Isabelle, but my foster family calls me Bella. I am 6 months old, and I am now realizing that being a Golden is the best thing ever! I came from Missouri and was part of a commercial breeder group that was rescued by my friends at RAGOM. Although my life had a bit of a hard start, I am now working hard to understand how to be part of a new family.

I am a little shy, and I worry at loud noises. I prefer to be with people and my foster dog friend as much as possible, and do not want to be kenneled. I like the family cats, and they seem to like me, too. My foster family has children over 11, and a family with older kids or a family with just adults would be ideal for me. I would do best with a patient family and a confident dog about the same size as me.

I have made huge progress in learning the skills for potty training, but I am not yet completely housebroken. Consistency and some yummy treats have been very helpful to make progress toward learning to go outside. I am not quite ready to go on walks, but my family thinks that soon I will be excited to walk around the neighborhood and see the sights. I really enjoy seeing the dogs next door to us, and I love other dogs that stop to visit. I love to carry around my toys and have found a few chewing bones that are my favorite.

I am a gentle girl, a great listener, and a fast learner. I hope to find a family that will help to train me to be the best dog that I can be. I have a planned spay for the 3rd week in August, and then I will be ready to meet potential families.

If you want a dog that wants to learn, snuggle, and be a great friend, then I am the dog for you.

Isabelle has been in her new foster home for a few short days and is doing amazingly with the turkeys, chickens, resident dog, and kids. Isabelle has excellent recall. She knows "sit," but needs reminding at times, as she still is a pup. We are working on "lay down" and "stay" which she will master shortly. Sometimes she tries to jump on you, but a quick correction reminds her that she cannot do this. She will whine in a kennel, but settles after a little bit, as if is covered like a den. She is also fine with free roam in a mud room with the RD when we are gone.

Isabelle will need constant training, as she is still a pup and learning what is acceptable behavior. You HAVE to be committed to training, dedicating time, patience, love, and working with Isabelle!!!

Isabelle inhales her food when eating. I have been feeding her by hand and putting her food in a muffin tin to make her slow down. I have also put water in her food to encourage her to slow down. She does not have any issues eating around our RD or playing with toys together. I am constantly removing toys and treats from Isabelle and giving them back to her with no issues.

Isabelle seeks attention from my two children who are 3 and 10. She loves to cuddle with me and my husband, too! Isabelle takes treats a little rough and after being reminded, she corrects this. We are working on this. With Isabelle's ability to inhale food and being a little jumpy, it is recommended that Isabelle be adopted by a family with children aged 5+. Isabelle can easily change this behavior with work, training, patience, love, and dedication!!!!!! You HAVE to be committed to working with her on this when she is a puppy!!!!!

Isabelle is shy and startles to loud noises or the unknown she evaluates the situation, and is fine after she realizes it was nothing to be alarmed about. She does not dart, but startles. It is going to be required that you have land or a fenced yard for Isabelle due to her startling as a way to keep her safe from hazards. However, each day she is becoming less and less startled. My RD has been teaching her that there is nothing to be alarmed about and I can see her blossoming and gaining her own confidence daily! Isabelle runs in and out our home like she has been here all along. Another RD would be best for Isabelle as she is learning from my RD's confidence and is a follower.

Isabelle loves water and has found every puddle possible!

Remember Isabelle is still a puppy and with a puppy, comes puppy chewing, jumping, accidents and needing to learn. If you are dedicated to continued training and being patient, and have love to give; Isabelle is your perfect match!
