The good news is that Honey continues to be a wonderful houseguest and loves everyone and everything she meets. She's getting better about not going full-out celebration every time she sees people.
The not so good news is that Honey's X-rays confirmed that she does, in fact, have dysplasia in her right hip. She is not a candidate for surgery, so we've started the supplement therapy prescribed by Dr. Lara.
"Dr. Lara's comments were that Honey does have hip dysplasia, shallow acetabulum and flattened head bilaterally and some sclerosis of the acetabular rim on the left. She is not a candidate for a TPO. She should have nutritional supplements: glucosamine with chondroitin and MSM and high levels of Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA = 18 mg/lb)."
On a positive note, Honey continues to run and play hard. She just tires a bit sooner than our resident pack. She is an absolute doll, and we're thoroughly enjoying her presence.
