Welcome to RAGOM, Honey! Honey is a beautiful and well-mannered 2-year-old (estimate) Black Lab. Honey was found as a stray, so very little is known of her past, but other than being thin and having a nasty ear infection (that we're still working to remedy), she is in good health and has good basic manners. Honey went in to heat shortly after coming in to rescue, so we waited it out and she was recently spayed. Honey has a heart of gold and loves everyone. She loves to play, but settles down nicely. She can get a little mouthy when she's excited, but we're working on that. We do have a vet appointment to check out her right rear leg. It looks as if she may drag her foot at times. All paws crossed it's nothing serious!

More to come on this little sweetie...

The good news is that Honey continues to be a wonderful houseguest and loves everyone and everything she meets. She's getting better about not going full-out celebration every time she sees people. 😊

The not so good news is that Honey's X-rays confirmed that she does, in fact, have dysplasia in her right hip. 😔 She is not a candidate for surgery, so we've started the supplement therapy prescribed by Dr. Lara.

"Dr. Lara's comments were that Honey does have hip dysplasia, shallow acetabulum and flattened head bilaterally and some sclerosis of the acetabular rim on the left. She is not a candidate for a TPO. She should have nutritional supplements: glucosamine with chondroitin and MSM and high levels of Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA = 18 mg/lb)."

On a positive note, Honey continues to run and play hard. She just tires a bit sooner than our resident pack. She is an absolute doll, and we're thoroughly enjoying her presence. 😊

Honey here!

First of all, and many apawlogies for the delay (FM needs to do a better job checking my webpage), thank you so much KRYSTA M and PATCH 10-223 for sponsoring me! High paws and sloppy kisses for that!

I'm doing well. I have an X-ray scheduled for Wednesday to see what causes me to favor my right rear leg. Paws crossed it's an easy fix! I'm working very hard on leash-walking and not jumping up on people. I get so stinkin' excited to see people I can hardly control myself. Geez, you'd think I'd be a little more appreciated....who doesn't love a full-out celebration every time they come in the door?!?! Seriously, though, FM says I'm pretty much a dream dog - and quite a beauty. 😊

I'll update after my X-ray. ttyl
