Our Queen Jenny has now been spayed and is doing just fine. Always so good to get that behind us (and her!). Sailed through with flying colors; a little slow the first couple of days, of course, but fine. She is at 61 pounds, just right. She has been a mama at some time in her life. This girl came into RAGOM due to a very poor situation in another county in South Dakota, where she and three other dogs were taken from the property due to very bad conditions. They all ended up in animal control. So hard to believe with a perfect Golden like this came from such a place and ended up in "doggie jail.” We were able to retrieve her from that place and got her with us right away and also managed to get rescue for the other 4 mixes! Yeah. So at least this situation ended up being a good one, fortunately. The only thing she had was worms, which medication took care of, and, thankfully, that was all. Otherwise, Jenny is in great golden health.
Jenny, we think, is about 5 years old; great with other dogs, great with cats, loves her human, especially her foster dad. Just smitten with him for some reason. Jenny enjoys her rides in the truck with Foster Sister Maggie, who is 15, and FD. She loves to go for rides. So cute to see her survey the back door in hopes of going out for a ride, or… waiting for FD to come home from work.

Jenny is great with other kids, and I would venture to say just about any size. We had 6-, 10-, and 12-year-olds here for the holiday, and she was super. And another note, very gentle and kind with our two senior grandmas as well. All around well-behaved Golden Retriever. Current on shots, microchip and all medicals!
We had no idea what a great dog we would be getting. We are very thankful all the way around, for her and for us, having the privilege to foster such a gem (who, yes, if circumstances were different… be a whole other story for sure! Ha!). Alas, we are good with our current 5-pack.
Jenny goes in and out with the rest of crew and, when weather allows, enjoys checking out things in the yard. She will give a squirrel a run for its money, for sure! Playful inside and outside. Gentle, soft mouth. (perhaps hunted one day?). Belly rubs are a must. Again, she has a lovely coat. Her spay incision is looking fantastic (never any sutures to remove). Her teeth are great, too.

Playtime
A FIRST for us is she LOVES to jump IN BED by us! We have never allowed that (we feel any furniture dogs are up to the future forever home). One late morning as we were sound asleep somehow, Jenny made it up on our bed and curled up on the end! Could not believe neither one of us felt her! We did purchase a larger orthopedic bed for her (for the end of the bed) as Jenny does love to snuggle and keep warm. (Do what ya gotta do, eh?) I cannot say enough wonderful things about this Golden girl – she is simply an outstanding dog, all the way around.

Thank you, RAGOM, for acting on her immediate rescue and transport! What a team… we were able to get her ASAP. We had just recently adopted out a lovely RAGOM boy, Buddy, just a little over a week before, so we had not really reviewed a new plea at all. THANK YOU to you guys out there for reaching out to us in this area for immediate help. You know who you are…. Many, many thanks.
Also, we would really like to thank Ruth H. for the Christmas mitten! How kind and lovely to recognize Jenny! Many thanks, Ruth!
