9/19/06: Meet the Labor of Love Puppies !!

Little Tia is the spunky puppy of the group. She doesn't walk to go somewhere, she runs. She isn't afraid to go and investigate, she isn't afraid to wrestle with her bigger siblings, she isn't shy about trying to crawl up my leg because she wants some attention. Tia - Maria, as I call her, is now 4 weeks old. Her mother was a Chocolate Lab and her father a Golden Retriever. Tia has the look of a Lab, with the shortest brown hair of the group. She also has four white socks, a white patch on her face and the tip of her tail is white. Tia loves human attention - she is the one that will most often seek out my attention - even if she isn't hungry!!

Since I’m nearly 9, I wanted to update everyone on what’s happened since I was adopted!  I used to have really short hair, but now I’m scruffy; I’ve been asked what breed I am almost everywhere I go.  My family includes my brother, Blu (black lab mix); my feline sister, Snickers; my two human sisters, Karly and Maren; and my human mom and dad.

I enjoy playing and cuddling with Blu and Snickers, especially running around the backyard with Blu.  I also like to lay around the house when it’s hot outside.  When my family is watching TV, I enjoy sitting with them and watching too.  One of my favorite things to do is go to rally; Karly has trained me since I was 2 for 4H, and we have done obedience, showmanship, and rally.  We’ve gone to the State Dog Show a few times, and I’ve been Grand Champion at the county a couple of times!  Currently, I working on being the first dog in my county to compete at the excellent level, that means I get to do two jumps in the course!

Here is Tia with her cone on - or is it her new alien costume? Tia has made a full recovery and is doing great. She only needed the cone for one day...thankfully, since she likes to snuggle with her head against yours...puppy snoring magnified.

Second picture is of Tia playing wiffel ball with her cone...when given lemons, make lemonade is this girl's saying.

Tia is growing like a weed. She is a spunky little girl who loves to play and loves to explore outside. We still haven't quite figured out what all breeds might be mixed into her, but she has a look of her own.

This past week all of the puppies went to the vet for their six week check up, got their first puppy shot, one more treatment of dewormer and were microchipped. Tia was quite brave. We didn't hear a peep out of her when she was chipped, considering that was a rather large needle inserted into her!!

Tia is pictured with her sister, Mystery, slepping in a pile.

Tia is ready to be adopted and is waiting for a family all of her own.

Tia has the shortest hair of all the puppies, she also has the most white on her. Next week the puppies all go in for their 6 week check up, will be micro chipped and started on their 3 set series of shots.

Tia loves attention and will gladly take a nap in your lap.
