This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Lucy is a healthy 3.5 year old cream colored Goldendoodle.  She is about 70 pounds, spayed, microchipped and UTD.  She is also current on HW and flea & tick preventatives.  Lucy’s being lovingly surrendered to RAGOM as the family has a special needs child who just loves Lucy so much that she gives her really hard hugs.   Lucy, however, is not a hugger and does not like the attention.   Lucy’s family are entrusting RAGOM to find her a new perfect home.

Hi I’m Lucy and it’s great to be a RAGOM dog. I’m enjoying my new foster family, especially the four legged one named Bella. We play and run around the yard a lot. I’m getting tons of exercise. I also like to go for walks with my foster family and check out my new surroundings. Well I’m kind of new at this so I’ll turn it over to foster mom because Bella wants to play.

What can I say about Lucy?! She is a great dog and really fits in well here. She’s happy, friendly and well mannered.  Lucy isn’t a lap dog but will lie on the floor next to you. I think she would do well with children 5 or older or children who would understand that she doesn’t care to be hugged. She has great recall and doesn’t need a fenced yard. She walks well with her martingale collar and the environment around her doesn’t seem to bother her while walking.  Lucy does not resource guard, has no anxieties at all and doesn’t require a fenced yard.  She loves to play fetch, play with our resident dog, and hang out with her foster family.  She enjoys free roam of the house and she is also crate trained.  She’s great with other dogs but cats are unknown.

I have only seen one issue with her. The issue is that she appears to be somewhat afraid of men especially when a woman isn’t present.  She is great around me and my husband but when it’s just my husband she is extremely timid, cowers and sometimes pees. She will take treats from me but not my husband. My husband and I have been working with Lucy and she is making slow progress with my husband. Lucy is definitely most comfortable around women.

Lucy here. I got my smile on. Can you tell? Well, I've been adopted and I'm HAPPY!!!!

Thursday, July 30, 2015

So you want to know why I'm looking so down in my photo.

I have 2 reasons:

First, look at my tail! I have what people call "Happy Tail". Yes, I wag my tail sooo much and soooo hard that I hit it on the wall and broke the skin. My tail is healing but I have to wear this thing until it totally heals. I don't like it but I do leave it alone.

Second, I'm still waiting to get adopted. Although I enjoy my foster home I would really love to have my very own family. I'm just gonna lie here and wait!! What's that? Playtime!! Gotta go!

Lucy is doing really well at our home. She and our dog enjoy each others company and really play gently. Lucy does have "Happy Tail" and the wound is closed and healing. She will continue to wear her cover for another week. The cover helps her from reopening her wound. Lucy is a huge tail wagging girl and she continually wags her tail with tons of enthusiasm. Lucy loves to be by your side and does enjoy being petted.

Lucy has shown great improvement around men. While still somewhat shy, she is learning to approach men as opposed to avoiding them. She gets better every day and we continue to work with her on this.

Lucy would make a great family dog. She loves kids and enjoys being around people. Lucy can either be the only dog or can live with another dog. Lucy doesn't require a fence and knows basic commands. She likes to play fetch and enjoys walks. She walks very nicely on just a leash. Her future family will need to be patient with her as she adjusts to her new family (especially if there is an adult 2 legged male). I know Lucy will make a great family dog...remember...she's waiting!

Hi there Lucy fans. I have soooo much to tell you. I've learned that foster dad is an alright kind of guy! I know it took me awhile but a girl can't be too careful. I've met several different men and those introductions have gone well. I also learned that playing with my fur sister is fun! Foster mom says that we are both pretty gentle when we play.

Now for the serious news: It appears I have a urinary tract infection. So now I'm on medication for the next 2 weeks. After that, I get retested and hopefully I'll be better. Foster mom also discovered that I'm 4 years old and will be turning 5 in October. My birthday is 10-21-2010 just in case you want to get me something special. Foster mom also learned that I'm a little over weight and that I need to lose 10-13 lbs. So I'll definitely need to get walking more. Don't worry I walk great on my leash! Well I gotta go, Bella wants to play.
