Welcome Norma Jean 17-078TD from the streets of Eskisehir, Turkey, to America and to RAGOM. Norma Jean would not be here today if it were not for all the wonderful RAGOM supporters and volunteers. These dogs, newly arrived, are all on their way to a great life.

To tell you what I know so far about Norma Jean, is mainly that she is as sweet as they come. She is 2 years old, healthy, and very friendly. She went to the vet this past week and is in great health but for her ears, which we are treating. She is at an ideal weight of 53 pounds. Her coat is almost kind of silky and when brushing her, she doesn't seem to shed much.

Norma Jean is very treat motivated. She sits nicely for treats and on demand. She knows the word no and sometimes seems to know her name. Or maybe she knows it more than she lets on and is just ignoring me. She loves to be petted and is a bit of a snuggler. She especially likes to play! She and my resident dog play so well together. They are very similar in size and color and it is sometimes hard to tell them apart. But they love to play and chase each other. This is so fun to see for both of them.

Norma Jean went to visit a home with a cat to see her response. There basically wasn't much response. She just wasn't interested in him. Always good to know. She is interested in rabbits and squirrels however. This interest has dissipated a bit though as she doesn't get quite as worked up when seeing them as she used to. We walk a lot and she does well with the Gentle Leader. She does have a habit of jumping on people at times but we are working on his. The kids we have come in contact with have been fine. Certainly no aggression. She just wants their attention. Slow introductions to kids would be best for her. She loves to be outside and now that the weather is warmer, she will just sit out on the porch and watch the world go by. It's a whole new world and life for her.

The ideal home for Norma Jean doesn't require a lot. The availability of another dog to play with would be great. She would need a fence for playing but really not otherwise. She's young so she needs activity to keep her from getting bored and getting into things. She has been known to shred newspapers and destuff toys. But she settles well and is a great companion.

Norma Jean, now known as Ellie, was adopted into the B family. She has a fur brother about her age and size who also loves to play. The B family loved her the minute they met her and will give her everything she could possibly want in life.

Congratulations Norma Jean! You came from Turkey, but America, RAGOM, and the B family have given you an incredible new life.
