Welcome this sweet boy Riley 14-049 to RAGOM! Riley is a 5 year old pure bred Golden Retriever who was surrendered due to his family moving into a smaller home so they didn’t have room for him. He is 93lbs of pure joy. He is housetrained, we have only had one accident the first night but being in a new environment and situation can do that. He knows sit, shake and lay down, especially when there is a tasty treat waiting for him, like carrots! He has full roam of the house, even when FM and FD are at work. He loves to play play play! FM and FD have learned that the toys do not stay in the basket for very long. He likes to be close to FM and FD in the house, especially in kitchen, but if we aren’t entertaining enough he will go and play with his toys or catch a nap in front of the window. Riley enjoys his walks as we enjoy them too since he walks so nicely on a Gentle Leader and since it’s not so cold out. Riley said he smells Spring in the air, but Spring means flowers blooming, trees budding, and green grass growing. That all sounds lovely but for Riley this means allergies in full force. Grass, ragweed, maple trees and dust mites all scored high on his allergy test. His surrendering owner said that if he is wiped down with a wet cloth or wipe to remove allergens each night that it helps him with itching. He does take Prednisone every day April-Nov then every other Nov-March. Riley also has a special dog food that helps with his allergies and itching. Riley is a surfer, not the surfs up, big waves kind, the counter kind! We are working on teaching him to not follow his nose onto the counters.

Riley’s forever home needs to make sure they are prepared to keep his allergies under control with giving him his medication, wiping him down, and buying his special food that can get costly. But believe me he is worth these things, because he just warms your heart! Please contact your placement advisor if you feel like you could be Riley’s forever home!

Updates

We have had Riley for 10 wonderful days!  He definitely loves his boys and looks forward to the waking up each morning so that he can get his attention!  He is very patient as he waits each morning for his breakfast, sometimes those teenagers are a little on the slow side in the morning.  I have attached a few pictures of the bunch.

We love our new addition.
