The past few weeks have been very eventful! Last weekend my FM had 6 friends from college come to visit, yes, 6 new people for me to meet! In addition to all of those girls, there was a young little dachshund who came to visit named Gordie. Since there were so many new friends visiting my foster grandma took me to stay at my foster great grandma's house with Cedar during night. I did great transitioning into a new home, especially since my Cedar was there! We called it our girl party!
I was a little nervous around the girls the first time I saw them but as time went on I would approach them all for a little love here and there. Gordie and I got a long great as well. I wasn't quite sure what to think of the little peanut at first, but she was a ton of fun once we got acquainted. We spent a lot of time playing ball and running around the house. Gordie may be little but she can keep up with us bigger dogs.
I also got rid of my nasty kennel cough and ear infection! Since I was feeling better, FM scheduled me to be spayed and it went great! The evening after I was spayed was a little tough for me. Let's just say I get really loopy after having surgery, I managed to master falling asleep while standing up! Foster mom kept giggling at how silly I was acting, even though she felt bad for how crummy I was feeling.. However the next morning I woke up with a ton of energy and felt great.
I am still learning how much fun it is to play, I have a special spot on top of a little rock wall that I love to chew my ball at. FM calls me the Queen of the hill! Cedar and I also love to play chase in our yard. Sometimes I go so fast that I almost run into Cedar and have to leap over her. The ice and the snow on the ground can also be a little slippery so I sometimes have crash landings when I run to FM. She is trying to show me hand signs to slow down when I get closer, I am trying to catch on to them but running is so much fun!
I continue to come out of my shell more and more each day. I get nervous when I first meet new friends but I warm up once I know that everything will be ok. I like to take a step back and take it all in for a bit just to be sure. Even though I may seem nervous and shy on my first interactions with you, don't be fooled! Once I feel comfortable I am a very energetic and affectionate girl.
If you would like to take a shy girl and help her learn what it means to be a golden girl please let your placement advisor know!
