Rufus (Tuffie 08-150)

Profile

Tuffie is settling into his foster home quite nicely after a couple baths and a mini groom.

He is 4 1/2 years old, loves his fur siblings but people most of all. He wants to greet everyone he sees. We are a little overweight, with ear and skin issues but are going to the vet today to work on this.

We are learning to walk nicely on a leash; he is quite a strong boy!

He has decided that Laker's bed is his so that's where he lays alot but Laker can still get up on the sofa so he is sharing. Tuffie roams free in the house during the day but loves his kennel at night; as long we are all together, Tuffie is happy.

Will update after his vet appointment.

We adopted Tuffie (Rufus) in April of 2008. He has been a great dog for us. However, in the last year his hip arthritis had become more severe. Despite arthritis and pain meds, he got to the point he was unable to stand or walk. On August 16th we made the difficult decision with our vet to end his struggles and he was put down. He was a great dog for over 9 years and is missed greatly. Thank you for allowing us to bring him into our family!

Sincerely,
The Champions

Tuffie survived the vet last night; he is up to date on everything. Dr. said his ears and skin are MUCH improved but ears need more care and meds to completely rid them of bacteria and yeast. So we got more meds. The grain free low allergen food he is on is great and there are many to select from. I get mine at Chuck and Don's Pet Food Outlet. He has some blood in his stool which we are treating with a deinflammatory drug for a few days; it is a result of something inappropriate that he was chewing :-(

Here are some pictures of him I took last night at the vet - he is a sweetheart. He lets you do ANYTHING to him. Keep your paws crossed - we have a super nice couple coming from Iowa to see him this weekend.
