Skye 19-042

Profile

Skye came into RAGOM when her days as a breeder mama were over. Skye is a healthy girl but is very scared about all the changes in her life. She'll need time to adjust to home living. Skye is very skittish and needs a home with no children or children age 10+. Skye must have a confident dog companion in her new home to show her the ropes of being a house dog. A physical fence is required to keep her safe. The family who adopts Skye will need to patiently guide her as she becomes a happy, playful Golden girl.

To understand why RAGOM will adhere to our requirements for Skye regarding children and another dog, please read about Retired Breeding Dogs.

Welcome to RAGOM, Skye! Skye is a petite 6-year-old retired breeder mom with a soft, beautiful dark red coat. She weighs around 60 pounds and has shorter legs. She is slowly learning what it is like to live in a home.

Skye is still unsure about all the new sights and sounds she is being exposed to. She will often run a few steps away when she gets startled, but does appear curious about what scared her.

Skye met our two resident girls with no issue and seemed excited to see other dogs after her journey to South Dakota. She quickly learned how to go up and down stairs and where the best dog bed is.

We are still working on house training, but she is doing pretty well. She loves to move toys around our family room. She doesn't really play with them, just likes to reorganize them.

Skye stayed overnight with another foster and did great with their cat, but we haven't tested her at this point.

Skye will not be ready to go to her forever home for a little while yet. She is a sweet girl who will need a confident dog to help her be more comfortable.

Unavailable: Skye is not yet ready to be adopted, and we are not currently accepting applications for Skye. Please watch for her status to change to Adopt Me before you submit an Inquiry for Application or, if you've already submitted an Inquiry for Application, before you email our application team.
