Last Saturday our beautiful boy Sam (Slim) was surrounded by love and his family as he crossed the rainbow bridge. Sam was a stray found with a severely broken leg that had to be amputated. After he recovered, he was up for adoption at a Humane Society, but eventually brought into Ragom. Missing one hind leg never slowed him down. Sam was a wonderful brother to our other Ragom dog Lady (05-052) and the ultimate buddy dog. He was bouncy and happy and somehow still showed his appreciation for being saved. Even though Sam’s exact age is unknown (10-11) he never once acted anything other than a younger dog. He was never sick, never had health problems. So when he was acting sick last Tuesday, it was out of character. By Friday, and with more symptoms, a trip to the Vet revealed he had a huge mass in his abdomen. We feel fortunate that he was able to live his life until the fullest until he got sick, but still shocked by his diagnosis. Sam will always be in our hearts and I am so glad we were his second chance. |
