Hello,
I was just going thru some old e-mails and cleaning out my folders and I came across all of the correspondence for RAGOM. We adopted Sophie, a goldendoodle you fostered in 2007/2008. We still have her, and she is doing so good. She is very protective of the kids, and is extremely playful. She's 8 years old, and about 65 lbs. She acts like she's a young pup and thinks she's a lap dog :) She still loves to chew toys, and still has the chew bone that you gave us. Because she can go through a plastic, squeaky chew toy in one sitting, we go to goodwill and garage sales and buy her stuffed animals. We call them her "friends" and she loves them all, taking them all! She loves them sooo much, that she rips their eyes out first, and then pulls all of their stuffing out through those holes. We say, that she takes the eyes first so that they can't see when she rips into them ;) She has been a great dog to have and we couldn't be happier with how adopting her has been for our family! I am attaching a few pictures for you, so you can see her :)
Thank you and have a great afternoon!

Another week has passed with our cute little Sophie. She is enjoying the snow so much (at least someone is). She hops around in the snow in the back yard. She comes out with me to shovel in the front yard and has the best time. She is making lots of friends in the neighborhood. She would be a great dog for someone without a fence because she stays in the yard and if she wanders a bit she comes back when called. She went to visit the neighbors dog but she came right back when I called her name. She gets very excited when I put my coat on because she thinks we are going out to play.
She has a particular favorite toy, a squeaky ball. If you ever want to sleep in in the morning or watch a TV show at a normal volume, I would NOT recommend this toy to any potential families. She rolls on her back and squeaks the ball obsessively. We have tried hiding the ball when we are in the house but she finds it every time. She just has so much fun playing with it I end up giving it to her. I know, I'm a softy.
We absolutely LOVE having Sophie in our family and I know she will make a wonderful pet for a very lucky family !!

Hi there, this is Sophie. You will never guess what I got to do tonight. I got to go see Santa!!! We went to the mall and there were lots of dogs and cats and people. I was so excited. Me and my foster brothers got our picture taken with Santa. I told him I would like a bone and toy for Christmas but most of all I would love a family. I am having so much fun at my foster home. I totally love playing in the snow. We lost two balls in the snow banks already. Me and my big foster brother run and chase each other and get full of snow. I get to play in the front yard because I don't run away. I said 'hello' to the neighbor, but came right back home. Sometimes we get to go across the street to the field and run and play. I haven't had any more seziures and I take my vitamin every day and my hips don't hurt at all. My foster brother has the same hips and his don't hurt either and he is almost 8.
I know Christmas time is busy for everyone, but I hope that we are not forgotten and that families will consider adopting one of us to share Christmas with. I would love a stocking of my very own that santa can fill with treats. To wake up on Christmas morning with my very own family that will love me forever is my Christmas wish.

Hello, I am Sophie's new foster mom. She has been with us for four days and in that short time, she has stole our hearts. Sophie is the sweetest little girl ever. She has an amazing temperament. She wants me to ask what you think of her new make over? She loves her new haircut and the pretty bow for Christmas. I have a GR and a poodle and with her being a mix of the two, I can definitely see both the traits in her. She doesn't gobble her food down in two bites like the GR, she takes a few pieces, hauls them to the living room, puts them down and then slowly eats them, just like my poodle. She is not obsessed with toys but will fetch one if it is thrown. Unfortunately, she also got the bad genetic traits of both breeds. She had a mild seizure two days ago, which is very common in poodles. We will monitor them to see how frequent they are. She had been seizure free for a month so it could have been stress or the change in food when we got her. We now have her on corn and wheat free food from the vet. As far as her hips, she runs and jumps and plays with no pain. She loves to run and jump in the snow. If she maintains a decent weight and has regular exercise she can go many years with no pain and not needing surgery.
Sophie is such a wonderful dog. If you are looking for a laid back girl to take on walks and cuddle, she is the dog for you. She has run of the house when we are gone. She sleeps on our bed and has not messed in the house. She knows her commands and listens very well. She needs that special family that will love her despite the fact she may have mild seizures occasionally and needs to have walks and vitamins for her hips. She has such a big heart filled with so much love. If you would like to meet the wonderful Miss Sophie, please placementragom [dot] org (email placement).
A new me!
I love the snow
