We adopted Sully in April of 2003. We were newly married and had decided to get a fur baby. I had been watching the RAGOM website for over a year and then when we decided it was the right time, Sully’s info came up and sounded perfect. However, there wasn’t a picture yet and I said to my husband what if we don’t like what he looks like? and he asked if I had ever seen a Golden Retriever that wasn’t cute? Good point. It was a perfect match!
On December 17, 2014, Sully crossed over the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 13. It was the hardest decision we have ever had to make. He had been diagnosed with cancer the month before, so we knew the end was near, but it came so very quickly. Sully was the best dog we could ask for. He was sweet, loving and loyal. After several years of being a family of 3, we eventually had 2 kids that also loved him dearly as he did with them too. Sully was very tolerant of them when they were babies and toddlers. One of Sully’s favorite things was going to the cabin and running in the lake. He didn’t like to swim, but he liked to wade in a bit and cool off. He also loved to destroy stuffed squeaky toys, I couldn’t tell you how many times we spent $10+ on a toy and he would destroy within 5 minutes- so worth it though. Sully loved being around his people and followed us wherever we went. We will miss him so much and as my 7 year old son said “he will always be in our hearts”. Thank you Sully for being a part of our family, we will miss you! We love you! Angie, Jeff, Cameron and Morgan F |
