Welcome to the USA, Sully, and to a new RAGOM life! Sully is a male, cream Golden mix, rescued from the streets of Turkey. He was found wandering on the streets and suspected of being there for quite some time. He is a handsome, lovable, affectionate 1- to 2-year-old, and weighs 59 pounds. He has been neutered, is up-to-date on all immunizations and preventatives, and is microchipped. The vet found a Giardia parasite in his stool, so he is on a medication to eliminate that. He came to us with a head wound, which is healing very nicely. He is a great walker and has somewhat learned to sit! He is not treat-motivated at this point, so teaching him commands is a little more challenging. He is sleeping in my bedroom on his dog bed, but has just learned to jump up on my bed, so that may be another resting place for him. He had a couple of accidents (both #1 and #2) when he first arrived, but has been good lately. He respects baby gates, and I do have the downstairs closed off. He has reluctantly learned to be kenneled when I leave the house; otherwise, he has free roam. No counter-surfing, but he did get into the garbage, so I am making sure all do-not-touch items are out of reach. He loves to play fetch with the ball. He is an only dog at my house, but does interact very well with my cat. He loves being petted and has learned that Golden nudge! He has been great with my 6-year-old granddaughter also. Sully is a nice, easy-going, mostly calm dog who is a real joy to have in my home. He is still a puppy, so we need to keep an eye on him for those untouchable things. He would make a wonderful companion to any home, probably with or without another dog.

Hi RAGOM Family, this is Sully! I had a great time meeting some of you last Saturday at the Street Dogs of Turkey Presentation! Thanks to everyone who came to say hello to me. I'm really sorry if I got mud on anyone when I jumped up to say hello. I've been working SO HARD on not jumping and most of the time, I'm doing great! It was just so exciting to see the other Turkey Dogs and all of the people! How lucky am I that I was able to say hello to my travel buddy, Vincent 16-025TD and my special angel, Devon! I didn't jump on Vincent but I did jump on Devon.

I have been with my new family for 5 weeks and I am learning new things and having lots of fun. I love to go on walks and have stopped trying to chase the birds, squirrels, and rabbits...kind of. If I remember to sit and watch these fascinating creatures, I get lots of praise from my mom and dad!  Also, when we walk past a house and people are outside, I always sit until I'm noticed and I don't move until they pet me. I've found that it is a great way to meet new friends!

I love to go for rides in the car! My mom has a cover for the backseat and even though I have my car harness on, I somehow manage to crawl underneath it so I can play hide and seek. My mom has to pull over a lot to find (untangle) me. It is a fun game!

Here are a few recent photos:

Merhaba! This is Sully, 16-027TD reporting from my new home in Fargo, ND! I've been with my new family for 2 weeks and life is great! I have a wonderful mom and dad who play with me, feed me lots of treats, and let me sleep in their bed. I also have a 9 year old golden brother named Buddy, who shares all of his toys with me and let's me snuggle up to him  when it is time for a nap. Our mom and dad take us for long walks and I'm having a great time meeting the people and dogs in our neighborhood. We have a big fenced in backyard where I play fetch...for hours! Sometimes when I'm outside a big bird (mom calls it an airplane) flies over our house and I always stop what I am doing and look up at it...I think I was on an airplane once...

There were some really nice people that came to our house to interview my mom and to take video of me. They were from a TV station and they wanted to do a story about me! It was so exciting! I showed my appreciation by climbing all over them and getting my beautiful cream colored "glitter" all over their black pants. My story was on TV and people actually recognize me when we are out walking. Click here to see me as a TV star!

I love to make my family laugh! They think it is silly when I throw my toys up in the air! I have learned how to sit and shake, and to come when my name is called. Considering that 2 months ago I was living in a forest in Istanbul, I've come a long way!

My brother Buddy and my mom are a certified therapy pet team and my mom is going to go through training with me so I can become a therapy pet, too! It sounds like a lot of fun! She told me that I have the perfect personality that a therapy pet needs.

My family is so grateful to RAGOM, my special angels; Devon and Emel, and my wonderful foster mom, Marcia. Thank you for your loving care and bringing me to America!

Handsome, happy Sully is in his new home in Fargo, ND. Here he is with his new family and their 9-year-old Buddy. It was love at first sight for all involved, so a perfect beginning for this beautiful, loving dog who didn't have the best life in Turkey. It's always a bittersweet time to see your foster dog leave, but so happy for the family and Sully. He's off to a Golden Life!

Sully is enjoying his first Minnesota winter... though it didn't last long. He's doing well at being a house pet instead of roaming the forests of Turkey! He is learning to sit, but so far, that's about it! He's going right into his kennel when it's time for me to leave - I'm so proud of him. (With a treat, of course!) He is still a puppy, so loves to chew on whatever you leave around that shouldn't be chewed. He walks so well and loves to play fetch with the ball in the backyard. He's been back to the vet and been declared all clear from the Giardia, and the wound on his head is almost gone and his hair is growing back. Sully is a real sweetheart.....and such a handsome guy.
