This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Tasha is a retired breeder girl who came into RAGOM's care on 11/23/2016.  She will turn 5 years old on  February 22 .  Tasha weighs in at 62 pounds and has been to the vet to get her vaccinations all up to date. She has not yet been spayed but we hope to get that done very soon.

As you can see by the pictures Tasha is a very stunning deep dark red colored girl.  She takes great comfort in being near the three resident dogs in the house.  We found out the hard way earlier this week that Tasha no longer cares to be crated while Foster Dad is at work.  She bent the bars on the wire crate door just enough to make it collapse and then she was free to be by the other dogs.  In the second picture Tasha was reunited at the RAGOM Holiday Sale with Lacey 16-224 no named Winnie.  These two were definitely friends and were hard to leave each other's side.

We are working each day to help give confidence to Tasha.  She is definitely very shy and timid to sudden movements and loud noises.  She now tolerates being petted and told what a brave and cute girl she is.  She used to tense up and bristle with the slightest of touch on her body.  While she may not exactly enjoy this kind of attention at least she is no longer shaking in fear of it.

We will continue to work on exposing Tasha to new things and making her more comfortable in those situations.  We will also continue to work on house training Tasha.  Check back for future updates on how Tasha is doing.  Happy Holidays to her many fans!

Our sweet Tasha girl has found her forever home and moved there just over a week ago.  Best of all her new parents are repeat RAGOM adopters!  Sadly they lost their RAGOM boy Shane to cancer in January.  Lucky for Tasha and RAGOM they once again sought their newest family addition from us.

Their previous experience in working with insecurities of a shy dog with Shane will help them with some of Tasha's insecurities too.  Tasha's new Mom works mostly from home and when she needs to be away her new Dad will be able to come home for lunch and check on her and her big brother, Cole.

So Tasha really did strike gold with her new forever home.  In May their youngest daughter will be back from college for the summer and she will have even more hands to give her rubs and more snuggle partners.

Congratulations to the Lee family on their newest RAGOM girl Tasha!

Attached are pictures with her new family, Foster Dad. and one last sniff in her backyard.

Happy Valentine's Day and Happy 32nd Anniversary to RAGOM!

Tasha has to also send a big Thank You to Karen L. for the virtual valentine in memory of Shane!  This is Tasha's Valentine thank you back picture.

I can honestly say that as time goes on we are starting to see more of a happy dog each week.  Tasha has definitely been watching my Lauren (08-498) and is not shy about giving you her nose to the elbow or that big ole paw when she wants some hugs and attention.  She has also jumped up on the bed twice by herself to be close to the other 4 legged friends.  I think she still prefers to sleep on her blanket as it is less crowded and probably much cooler.

Tasha sends her Valentine's hugs to her many fans!

Tasha wants to give a big Thank You to Nicole 13-351 and Buster for the Winter Icon and wishes in finding her forever home!  Tasha has been busy since coming into foster care and learning so many new things.  Tasha underwent her spay surgery just before Christmas and has recuperated quite nicely.  With the retired breeder dogs there are a number of things we work to instill in them.

Some of the biggest challenges are to help them acclimate to living indoors and to build their confidence and make them feel secure.  This process takes time but is so rewarding for each of the hurdles that we pass.  About three weeks into foster care we found out the hard way that Tasha no longer could be crated.  She destroyed a wire crate by chewing and breaking several bars on the crate door.  She also has a liking to chew on the rugs in front of the doors.  So for the time being Tasha is not crated and the rugs are removed from the doors.  We use baby gates to restrict the areas of the house that Tasha is allowed while I am away at work.

Another hurdle that we are working on is house training.  When I am home at night and on the weekends we make sure to let the dogs out on a regular schedule without any accidents. Tasha does have accidents during the workday.  With time and consistent training we hope to pass this hurdle too.

We have taken Tasha to two of RAGOM's Meet & Greets.  She was most recently at the Shakopee Chuck and Don's on January 7 (first picture).  She met quite a few nice people and some of their 4 legged family members too.  She did get nervous when other dogs at the event barked at each other.  This is one of the areas that we work to help build their confidence by assuring them that it is okay.

I am very proud of the second picture which shows Tasha and a clean bowl.  She heartily eats all of her meals now.  This was a challenge in the beginning.  Our Tasha girl could gain a few pounds without being in any trouble from the wonderful vets.  She weighs in 62 to 63 pounds. She is taller than my other golden and about 10 pounds lighter.

The final picture shows Tasha in a relaxed mode lying on a blanket near one of the resident dog pals.  This affirms why we believe that the retired breeder dogs do best in a home with other dogs.  For Tasha we will continue to look for a forever home that does not have young/small children.  At this point in time Tasha does better in a quieter setting without loud noises and sudden movements.
