Vince 06-179

4/15/06: Say hi to Vince!

We call him Vinney, as we think he has ties to the New York Canine Mafia. He is a very bold and daring half Lab and half Golden puppy. He is not scared of nothin'. He is very playful and loves to be the dominant one. He and his sister Nikki were rescued from a shelter and we have only had them one night. He enjoys getting all the attention and he loves to explore. He discovered that we have a lake out back and decided that he wanted to go wading. We didn't let him go in too far, be he sure had fun.

He will go to the vet next week and is ready for his forever home. Don't wait too long for this guy, he is a good catch. More later!

Dear RAGOM,

My sweet baby Vince 06-179 passed away on May 31,2018. Vince was fostered by the K family in Alexandria MN. I adopted him when he was six months old and he died when he was twelve and a half. We had twelve great years together.

Vince and I literally bonded the moment we met at the K family's house. He jumped into my lap and gave me lots of kisses. From that moment on we were inseparable.

Vince and I had such a great life together. He was my constant source of unconditional love. He was always by my side. He was so smart, friendly, strong, handsome, sweet, and perfect. We took many trips to our cabin in Ely, Door County, and many other places.

A few of his favorite things were swimming in our pool, chasing his ball, our daily three mile walks where he carried his stick the whole way, snuggling, and being with me.

Vince got very sick very fast. The Vet believes he had cancer. He got so sick so fast they never found it. His illness came on so strong he only made it one week after symptoms started.

I couldn't have asked for a better passing for Vince. Our wonderful veterinarian came to our house to send him to Heaven.

After giving him extra nausea medication so he could be comfortable we spent the morning playing ball by the pool. We put his favorite bed out by the pool and he passed away in his bed by the pool surrounded by his family.

It was so peaceful. He had no fear. I am forever grateful for that.

It is impossible to put into words the amount of love I had for Vince. I do believe we were soulmates. Our bond and connection was unbreakable. I am so grateful for the twelve years we had together. We were very lucky to have had him in our family. We love you so much Vince! Thanks for being such a good boy!!!

Love, Jessica H

Vince made it through his neuter with no problems. This past week, he has turned into quite the retriever. He loves to fetch a ball or the throwing dummy. We also tried a few water retrieves and he did well. Vince will be a good hunter if trained. During the nights, he has turned into quite the little lover...I am not sure...he may have been just buttering up the gals for Mother's day! Vince is ready for his forever home. He is crate trained, knows sit, and comes when called. More later!

Vince, or Vinney as we call him, continues to grow more Golden as the days go by. You can see the face of a Golden Retriever in his latest picture. Vinney has been learning to walk on a lead and that is going well. Vinney has also been doing some basic retrieves and loves it. A few days ago, we even went wading in the lake.

We are working on basic commands such as sit. He is still very curious about the world and has little fear of anything. He loves to explore, but comes when called (mostly). Vinney sleeps in the crate at night and will 'kennel up' if shown a treat. He will not have an accident in the crate during the night (about seven hours) and about four hours during the day. He is a very smart boy. He gets along with all the other dogs and loves to give kisses. House training is proving to be a challenge, but I think that is because we have so many dogs, that he just gets to playin' and forgets; but he is doing much better about 'going potty' on command. Vince goes to the vet on Monday for his neuter and will be microchipped. He is ready for his new home. Please contact RAGOM if Vinney impresses you as much as he does us!

Vince had his vet check up today and other than dirty ears he is healthy. He weighed 26 pounds and was updated on his shots. Vince is very adventurous and very confident when he strolls down to the lake to go wading! He loves to be outside and chase balls or blowing leaves!! Vince is ready for his forever home.
