Hudson was born while in RAGOM's care on Sept. 18th, 2015. His Mom Lilly 15-230 came into RAGOM very pregnant and due to deliver within a few weeks. Hudson is on the larger side, weighing 3.6 pounds on 10-8-2015. He has the cutest wrinkles and a sad-looking face, but he loves to snuggle and will chew on my ear lobe if I rub him. He has the biggest yawn when he's sleepy. At less then 4 weeks old, he is still developing his personality. Hudson's Mom is petite in size and looks like a Lab/German Shorthaired Pointer mix. Dad is a mystery.

  • Puppies are a lot of work. They have a lot to learn their first year and they depend on you to teach them.
  • Hudson will need to be let out mid-day even if your working. He will not be able to hold his bladder for a full work day and may not be able to hold it for 4 hours. Hudson will need a loving and understanding family that will come home and let him out midday and understand he may have had an accident before you get home.
  • Obedience training, learning proper manners and socialization with other dogs/humans is very important. Hudson needs a family that is committed to taking him to Obedience class, teaching him manners and taking him out and introducing him to new people and visiting new places.

Hudson wants to say "Thank you, Bob" to Bob Martin for the holiday icon on his webpage. As you can see he's a little under the weather today - darn shots, but he knows how important they in keeping him healthy and feels blessed that RAGOM provides his vet care while at his foster home. Thank-you to Bob and to all those that donate to RAGOM!!

Hudson sends a big "Thank you" to Gretchen Austin and her family for the winter mitten icon. Every donation helps RAGOM help dogs and puppies just like Hudson. Thank you, Gretchen!!

Hudson is doing great!! He knows how to sit when asked to and will sit for his meals or whenever asked to sit. Hudson goes to the door when he needs to do his duties outside and has had only had one accident in our home, and that was our fault, not his. He did remember from his past (puppy-pen time) and found an old towel laying on the floor and piddled on that. He's one smart boy! We're working on "stay" and he picked it up quickly, but as everyone knows, that's a hard one to follow through on consistently, and while he does well, he still needs more practice. For a 3-month-old puppy, he's doing wonders with the commands he's being taught.

His favorite places in our home are the couch or in the kitchen. Nothing pleases him more then to take a good snooze on the couch. It is so much fun to watch him run into the house from outside and jump up onto the couch. If he could, he'd sleep up there all night, but for nighttime sleep, he's in a kennel till around 5 am, and then he crawls into bed with us.

Hudson is a watcher and loved to watch me do the holiday baking, cooking, and wrapping of gifts. If he gets pooped out, he'll lay down by my feet. Whomever adopts Hudson will need to know that he's a constant companion and it's very likely he's laying by your feet, at your side, or just behind you while cooking. All other times he's playing with his favorite toys - anything that squeaks.

Hudson is now 12 weeks old and weighs 20.5 pounds. He is still waiting for his forever family to find him (he had a family interested in adopting him, but they couldn't at this time). In the meantime, he's learning how to do his duties outside and very rarely has an accident - yay!!! He's been so good to go to the door when he needs to go out.

Now that all his siblings have been adopted, he is no longer in the puppy pen at night and is now sleeping in a kennel near us at night. He will go into the kennel set up in the living room to play during the day (I'm home all day) or he'll go in there and catch a quick nap, but he does love to take his naps laying on the carpet in the sunshine or in the kitchen with me while I'm cooking/cleaning.

Hudson loves chewing on leaves outside, but in the house, he doesn't chew on anything inappropriate, which is amazing for a puppy. I'm not saying if given the chance, he might chew on something he shouldn't. Just so far, he's shown no desire to do so. He loves it outside and if a flock of geese or a plane are flying over the yard, he loves to look up and watch them till they are out of sight.

Most of all, Hudson loves to be by us if we're busy doing something or he loves having some snuggle/cuddle time on our lap or laying by our side.

He had company the other evening - his brother Alan came for some play time. It was so much fun to watch those two run and play together again.

Hudson is now 8 weeks old and still waiting for his forever family to find him. He's growing up fast, almost paper-trained and loves to play with his littermates. Hudson looks like a Lab as his coat is shorter than some of his siblings. He has been neutered and is ready to be adopted. If you're interested in knowing more about Hudson, let your placement adviser know.

Hudson is now 6 1/2 weeks old and he and his siblings have moved to a new foster home without their mom Lilly 15-230. Lilly had stopped nursing her puppies, so it was time for the puppies to learn to live without their Mom. They all made the transition well.

Hudson has been to the vet for his 6-week checkup and now weighs 9.2 pounds and is very healthy. He received his Distemper booster along with Bordetella and dewormer. The puppies enjoyed meeting all the vet techs and even the people stopping by to see them in the parking lot of the clinic. We put their kennel onto a cart and then wheeled them from our car to the office. The cart then became a play toy with lots of climbing, playing king of the hill, and hiding under it. Here are 2 videos of their visit to the vet:

Hudson is now 5 weeks old and doing what most 5-week-old puppies like to do - eat, nurse, play hard, and sleep even harder. He had a social day to meet new people and at that time, new pictures were taken. I can't believe how much he's grown in just a week's time. Hudson now weighs 6.6 pounds.

Hudson is growing up fast. He's just over 4 weeks old now and exploring the world around him. All puppies have started on softened food and are loving it. Here is a link to a video of the puppies first time outside on grass.

Hudson is now old enough to meet his new family. He will need to stay with his Mom Lilly, littermates, and his foster family till he's neutered at 8 or 9 weeks old. If Hudson is the right fit for your family, let your placement adviser know.
