We've had the joy of having Beau as part of our family for three months, and we cannot imagine life without him. He loves his morning walks, and points when he sees squirrels and bunnies in the neighborhood. He gets petted from neighbors on their way to work and from kids throughout the day. I think his happiest place is on the sofa, next to one of us as we are reading or watching TV. He absolutely loves attention -- petting, brushing, talking to -- but seems to understand when we need to (temporarily) move on to something else.
We've started training with him; he excels in most everything, but anything that has to do with getting up and down repeatedly he just isn't too excited about. That, and looking at us while walking (as opposed to looking ahead) is just not natural to him. So we are mostly just enjoying the process and not worrying too much about completing Level 4!
We love that we can take Beau anywhere. He loves to ride in the car -- short rides, long rides, doesn't matter. He goes to the cabin and to the dog park, and will probably go to Chicago next month. He is friendly to everyone he meets; he has such a happy disposition. (We are convinced that he "purrs" -- that he expresses his contentment vocally -- it is so cute!)
Please enjoy this photo of Beau! Many thanks to all the RAGOM volunteers who do such wonderful work and make so many dogs and families so happy. See you at Goldzilla!
