Great news for Ms Belle. She has found her fur-ever home. She has a fur brother whom she gets along with really well. They played together right away like they had known each other forever.

RAGOM has a beautiful new girl by the name of Belle! Her birthday is January 11th. She will be 4 years old this January.
Belle is a purebred Golden who is originally from Pennsylvania. This East Coast girl has been living in northern Minnesota. She was an outside girl with her bed in a nice heated garage. Even so, she is house trained. There have not been any accidents.
Belle would run free in the woods of northern Minnesota with a fur companion, being gone for hours at times. Because wolves roam the remote area, Belle’s previous owner made the difficult decision to give her to RAGOM to find a fur-ever family that would have the means to keep Belle safe.
Belle is so incredibly sweet and loves to cuddle. She follows me everywhere in the house. She has a couple of favorite places that she likes to lay besides at me feet: the top of the stairs and by the front door, but if I leave the area, she is not far behind me.
She does not seem to have separation anxiety when I leave, but that could be because of my fur kids to keep her company. She is at the door when I come home. Belle sleeps on one of the doggy beds in the bedroom or right on the floor.
Getting a picture of Belle has been somewhat difficult. Whenever the camera or even the phone came out to take a picture, Belle’s head would go down and she would turn away. I made some progress when she got a stuffed animal to carry. She had not shown any interest in any of the toys until a brand-new blue dinosaur appeared.
Belle met my fur kids (Max and Bentley - both Goldens, and Duster - a Poodle/Maltese mix) without any issues. She loves to play and is very gentle with Duster who is only 13 lbs.
She has not been destructive. I have taken a couple of things away from her. She seems to have a fetish for paper to rip.
She has had free roam of the house when I am gone. I have been gone for as much as 8 hours, and there were no issues when I returned.
Belle did get past a gate in the hallway. I have a hard time believing she jumped it, but there really is no other explanation. I don’t believe she was able to open the gate herself. For this reason, I believe she would need at least a 5-foot fence in the yard, or she could/would jump it.
Belle came to RAGOM in heat. Her day for spay is December 28th, so she won’t be ready to go to her forever home until after that. Because she is in heat, we have not gone on walks or been to any parks. She did well on the leash when I took her to the vet for her initial checkup.
Belle is up to date on all vaccines and did well at the vet. She accepted the poking and prodding. She turned to look at the vet when her temperature was being taken, but there was no lip curl or any sound.
Belle barks when the neighbor dogs bark, even when she is inside the house. She has not been in the full backyard except for one day for about 15 minutes. I have not wanted to take the chance on an intact male coming to a-callin’.
When we were out there, she did bark at the neighbor’s dog that was outside, but not excessively. She has a funny habit of running to the TV if she sees a dog on the screen. I love to watch Lucky Dog on CBS Saturday mornings. She was so busy those 30 minutes trying to make friends.
Once Belle is spayed, I will venture out to see how she does on walks as well as meeting new people.
