Happy Spring!  Happy Spring! So glad you are a Ragom Rescue now! Thank you SFHS for your efforts! From RD in SD

In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Date Posted Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
 3.24.16 Required  Yes optional Yes
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Welcome little miss Cait to RAGOM!  This little sweetheart is a lab mix that came in with 11 other dogs.  These dogs were part of a hoarding situation and RAGOM was asked to assist the authorities in helping them find new homes.

Cait is a petite girl who is 30 lbs., around age 4.  She is about 21 inches high.  Cait was severely underweight when rescued so she has been getting extra food every day and is now only a couple of pounds away from her goal weight. She has been to the vet and was given a clean bill of health and will be ready for her spay surgery in April.  She is currently in season so we are waiting until this is over plus two weeks per the vet’s suggestion.

I Love Laps!

Cait is a lovely girl who has been a joy to foster.  She is very outgoing and LOVES to fetch a tennis ball. She greeted my resident dogs with friendly tail wags and kisses.  She rests comfortably in her crate at night.  She is currently also fed in her crate which she very much looks forward to each meal.  She also loves to cuddle.  She firmly believes she is a lap dog and I find it difficult to deny her this very simple pleasure.

Cait currently has a fun playmate staying at our house for a few days.  She has shown appropriate play with him.  He is an 80 lb. Airedale who loves to play.  Cait has shown her play bow many times and even rolled over while playing.

Cait will not be available for adoption until after her spay surgery on 4/8/16.

Please watch for updates on adorable Cait.  As we take care of these special pups please consider sponsoring any one of them or a one-time donation in any amount is so helpful.

This sweet girl is settling in to the good life! She loves to take a snooze on my bed, and continues to love to snuggle. She also is learning to walk on the gentle leader. When we came home from a walk the other day, I went to water the garden with her still on the leash, and she stuck her face right in the water! I bet this girl would love to swim!We continue to work on obedience at home, so far she has "sit" and "down" and "come". Stay is hard when treats are out, she will do anything for a treat! Cait seems hesitant when you first meet her, but she really is loyal once she gets to know you! She loves to be with our family. She almost never goes in her crate now unless we are leaving the house, and to sleep. She often will lay down under the kitchen table or in my bedroom- she is very mellow but once toys are out or she gets to be outside she's a sweet little ball of energy.

Cait is doing so well, more bold each day to play and choose to lay under the table or near us instead of in her kennel. She loves to go for walks and practically lives on the deck! Such a sweet snuggler when the day is done, and even snuggles on the kids' beds.

I'm taking her back one more time tomorrow to make sure that her ear infection has cleared up. Even though she is afraid at the vet she does such a good job! Cait would be happiest with a big fenced area to play and chase a ball. She is learning her name, but her recall is not 100% outside yet. She has a big bark for a little girl, but only barks if she sees a person coming to the house, she does not bark at squirrels and typically very quiet. Don't miss out on Cait, she is a doll!

Cait is blossoming in front of our eyes! She is still skittish to loud noises and new people. Cait wants so badly to run outside! She needs a fence, as she has slipped out the door a couple of times and is incredibly fast. She is starting to learn basic obedience and is still working on walking nicely on a leash.

This sweet girl loves playing with our resident dog, and even if she is timid reacts so well with another dog. She does fine with polite children 5+ and has never shown any aggression to our kids or cat. We haven't found a dog toy she doesn't like. This girl is a love- playful and happy!

Cait is doing so well settling into home life. Everyone who meets her asks if she is a puppy - she has those soft ears and sweet puppy face! She is 31.5 lbs at the moment, and I would like to see her gain a couple more. She is on some meds for ear infection at the moment. Her most recent vet visit guesses she is a young 5 year old. She does great with our cat! This pup loves to play! Her very favorite are tennis balls, but she will play with anything. Her favorite game is to run after it, hide out with it in her crate, then bring it for more play. She has not shown any aggression signs whatsoever. I can reach right in the crate and get the ball with no objection at all. Even if she feels afraid, she may hide out in her crate, but would never growl at me or my kids.  She is super quick and absolutely loves to be outside (that's why I have so many pictures of her on the deck!). She is learning leash manners - a basic obedience class would be really good for her, just to learn some sit, down, stay type of commands. So far she is doing fine with our dog savvy kids, but because of her background, and loud/sudden noises scaring her, I think 10+ age of kids would be best. Cait is a sweetheart - a happy pup with lots of love and play to offer!

Cait is such a sweetheart- it is going to be so hard for us to let her go. She is very energetic and loves to play! A petite little girl, but she is gaining weight and looking so healthy. She just got spayed and we are doing our best to keep her calm, but all she wants to do is play with our resident dog and run around! She is so happy, and getting used to meeting new people. She has been doing very well with our kids and absolutely loves to be outside. A tennis ball is her favorite toy. Even though this pup loves to be active, she settles right down in her crate. She eats and sleeps there, and often if the door is open she will just go in for a break. Watch out- little Cait will steal your heart!
