Copper is a beautiful, "Full Figured" soon to be 6 year old who was surrendered to RAGOM from a loving elderly couple that were unable to care for her due to their failing health. She is very social, and loves everyone she meets. Copper is great with other dogs, and cats. She settled right into our routine, and has been very easy to care for. She has excellent recall, and knows basic commands.

Here are a few of her favorite things:

  • She loves walks, and does very well with a flat collar, does not pull
  • She absolutely loves car rides, and thinks she is going along whenever we go
  • She is great in the house, and completely house trained.
  • She is a Velcro girl, and loves to be near her people
  • Loves the swimming pool, so I am guessing she loves water

Copper's previous home had another dog, cats and a bird, so she has no issues with other animals. In fact she got along so well with the cats, they shared their food with her, which brings us to her Full Figure.

Copper came in weighing 114#. She should weigh somewhere around 75#. When she had her vet check, we talked about getting her weight off, and amount of calories she should be getting. He stressed the fact that, now is the time to get her weight reduced, because she is still young enough that it has not affected her joints, but is certainly will if not addressed soon. We wanted to see how the progression was going to go, and are happy to report that she has lost 7 pounds. She has a long way to go, but with 100% commitment, I know she and the right family, can get to her goal. We walk early in the morning, and evening, when it is cooler outside. She will get overheated quicker because she has a lot of insulation on her frame. She has started to build some muscle tone, and her duration for the walks has improved greatly.

For now, Copper is our "Biggest Lover" , and will soon be "The Biggest Loser"

Hi, Copper here, I loved my fosters Janet and Dale, and I love my new family!  They have committed to helping me lose my "full-figure". I lost 10 lbs with my fosters, and have lost 5 lbs and counting with my forever family. I walk at least 2 miles a day with my boys, and my weight management food is helping! I just had my first trip to the lake and had the best time! I love car rides, walks, swimming and meeting new people. I met 12 new relatives and 5 new dogs at the lake over the 4th of July. They tell me I am the sweetest and most easy going dog. I am one happy dog!
