Moe 17-009

Profile

In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Date Available Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
2/2/17  Required  Age 5 +  Optional Not tested
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Moe 17-009 is a 2 year old Golden Retriever mix. Based on records he is also part Husky. His is UTD, neutered, and 66 pounds of pure joy. Moe came into RAGOM from a caring home who wanted the best for him. Moe was living with a cat and just wanted to play and chase the cat but the cat did not want anything to do with Moe. He would not stop chasing her and for the safety of the cat and Moe he was lovingly surrendered to RAGOM. I will be cat testing him soon and giving an update.

In the time that he has been at the house he has adapted well…..

“Guys, it’s me Moe. I heard Foster Mom (FM) talking about me and I had to come see what was going on. Looks like she is talking about me. Well I can tell you that I hear, Good Boy, a lot! I go outside to do my business, run around the fenced in yard, and even chase my Foster Sister Abby around the yard. We have so much fun. We even have 2 neighbor dogs who I like to run along the fence with. FM says I am so good because I don’t even bark at them!! I do bark on occasion but not that much. I do get what they call “the zoomies”. I dunno I just run around really fast and go from here to there and there to here! It sure is fun. Gotta go, Abby wants to play some more!!”

Thanks Moe. As I was saying, he has adapted to his new environment very nicely. He knows how to sit, shake, high five, and sit and stay while his food is being prepared. He rides nicely in the car, even sticking his head out of the window to catch the fresh air. Walking on a leash he is good, but would do well with some training as he does pull ever so slightly. He has excellent recall and will come to me the moment I call his name. He loves to run around in his fenced-in backyard. I am asking for a home with a fence as he is part Husky and Huskies love to run. Being part Husky also means he has high energy and loves to be active. My resident dog (RD) Abby is part Husky as well so these 2 play non-stop. Having another dog who loves to play in the home would be ideal, but if you are an active family and love to run or walk he would benefit from that greatly as well. He does not yet have free roam of the house, but does kennel nicely. He is in a large crate during the day, and while it might take a minute or 2 to get him in the crate, once in he rarely whines. At night he sleeps in the bedroom or on the bed of FM. He is a snuggle buddy. He has only been around adults while in my care but I will be taking him to meet children soon. I feel he would do well, but as with any dog, children must be supervised when playing with dogs as they can inadvertently knock them over.

If you think Moe is right for you, ask if you are ready to deal with the following.. Fur, Fur and more fur. Did I mention the fur? Goldens and Huskies both are very furry and shed often. Also being active as he will need that to be happy in his new home.

Moe has found his forever home. He will be joining the family's other female dog who just loves him to pieces. Moe certainly won over the affection of everyone involved in his care, from the vet, the groomer, his foster and other volunteers who he met along his journey to his forever home. He is so very thankful for RAGOM and the opportunities he has been given.
