Zoe 18-077 was adopted on June 22 to the A. family. She is now known as Skye and has a big fur sister named Berit (Becky 10-206). So, Miss Skye really struck gold with the A. family as they are previous RAGOM adopters.
Skye was such a nice foster dog to have for the nearly 2 months that she was in my home. She got to go on several trips to our cabin and also to Grandma's house in southern MN. We learned that it is best to not feed Skye before longer car rides.
Skye helped welcome another foster into our home the end of May. The new foster, like Skye, was a retired breeder dog. By the time Skye was adopted, she and the new foster were busy playing chase in the backyard.
Skye didn't play much with toys here as she really never had any in her previous life. Hopefully, her big sister Berit will show her what toys are all about. She did like to quietly chew on a Nylabone in her crate from time to time.
Skye is on her way to being a spoiled princess in her new home. She has quickly learned that a big leather couch is far nicer than the hard floor of some dog barn. Thank you, A. family, for welcoming Skye into our hearts and home!
XOXO

Welcome Zoe 18-077 to the good life of being a RAGOM dog. Zoe was surrendered as a retired breeder dog in the middle of April.
She spent the first couple of weeks in the care of the F. family and is all up to date on her vaccinations and has been spayed. She is approximately 6 years of age or so and weighs around 62 pounds.
Zoe has warmed up tremendously in the almost 3 weeks of being in my home. She dances in circles when it is feeding time and has been known to bark at Foster Dad if he is taking too long to fill up the food in the dog bowls.
Zoe also makes a bit of a whistle sound through her nose when she is excited. She also learned that the dogs gather at the table for breakfast and Foster Dad shares peanut butter toast which she truly loves!
Last weekend, she and the resident dogs went on a road trip to southern Minnesota. She met several family members and walked up to them for attention and petting.
Our biggest challenge was having to be on a leash for potty breaks outside, as we were staying at a home with no fence. Happily, Miss Zoe did not have any accidents in the house, but we made frequent trips outside and let Zoe explore her new temporary surroundings.
Zoe does show some signs of fear when someone moves at her quickly and she will cower to the ground. She does respond to calm voices and being praised.
This weekend, Zoe again will be doing a bigger road trip as we head up to our cabin for a long Memorial Day weekend. We will see what Zoe thinks of the lake and another change of scenery.
Stay tuned for further updates on Zoe and her travel adventures!
