Buddy (Rudy 05-062)

Profile

Rudy is now with us and is settling in nicely. He has been neutered, had his shots and his check up for heartworm and his fecal test. He is about 8 months old and is going to be a big fellow. He gets along with both of my dogs and the cat and is eager to learn. When he got to the vet, they told me he liked to jump on people, but they must have worked with him, because he hasn't done it to me yet. I have started to work on 'come' and 'sit'. He does pretty well but is very inquisitive, so he has to check out a lot of things before paying complete attention! I used a Gentle Leader and I think with some practice he'll get used to it. In other words, he's a pup and has a few things to learn :)

It is with a very broken heart that I report that our RAGOM dog adopted in March 2005 (his name at the time was Rudy—we renamed him Buddy) has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  We were very lucky to have gotten the chance to adopt him.  He was one of the greatest dogs I know.  He had a personality that wouldn’t quit.  EVERYONE who met him loved him.  He was on one of RAGOM’s calendars, in the Gold Guys commercial and represented RAGOM at the State Fair at the pet expo.  Buddy got very sick last weekend, and it turns out he had hemangiosarcoma, a type of cancer that really doesn’t show any signs or symptoms until it ruptures, and for Buddy, this was the case.  The once bubbly and excited dog we all knew could hardly lift his head or get up he was so sick.  We brought him to the emergency vet, and his prognosis was very grave, so we made the difficult decision to put him to sleep and end his suffering.  Cancer took our beloved Buddy from us too soon, and it seems so unfair.  He will live in our hearts forever, and we look forward to the day we get to be united with him again.  Thank you, RAGOM, for bringing Buddy into our lives.  He brought much love and joy that we will never forget.

The above picture is him at the beach in White Bear Lake.  He loved going to the beach.
